  1. I hope this is merely precautionary and to work on his game, and not indicative that he may once again be unable to be in game shape when camp opens.
  2. Losing pets is the worst. Condolences my man.
  3. Not many, and those that do are all busts, no? I'm reasonably confident that was a "win now" move, not a "we don't think he's going to be good" move.
  4. Here, let me help: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/24305-get-off-my-lawn-the-over-50-thread/page-4?do=findComment&comment=854205 :nana:
  5. What did Moulson show you last year to make you think he's not done? Bylsma's usage and Murray's comments point to them thinking he's done. And if he's not a top-6 scorer, then he's finished. He doesn't play a lick of defense or bring anything to the table you'd want out of somebody farther down the lineup.
  6. Jack, Samson, et al. do not have to be protected. Nor does Moulson.
  7. Yea, but I can't complain then. What fun is that?
  8. That's all well and good, but I happen to believe he's missing opportunities to improve the team through solidifying the forward depth. I'm not going to sit here and pretend Hudler or Pirri are world beaters, but they're a hell of a lot better options in the top-9 and on the PP than Cal O'Reilly, who is one injury away from being in exactly that spot again.
  9. A Kane-Larsson-Bailey line is at least a little interesting to think about. Though I can't imagine Bylsma putting his captain on the 4th line for a rookie.
  10. If Murray wants to add any real salary, he's definitely going to have to offload some elsewhere. We have no real flexibility to purely add.
  11. God dammit. Do something Murray!
  12. How is Reinhart to pass that which he would never possess? :p
  13. Certainly seems financially driven, but how many 1st round picks that teams give up on this soon actually pan out? I'm reminded of a certain Zach Kassian and Cody Hodgson here.
  14. Yup, mine was on a cover letter
  15. Last weekend before the semester. I'm not mentally or emotionally ready this year. And financially, I'm not sure I can afford enough beer. Somewhat related, is there anything worse than not noticing a typo (despite looking it over several times) on something important until immediately after you submit it?
  16. Well, I'm not convinced Kane turned into anything. That line had a very very short run together. Ennis will get his shot, of that I have little doubt. Will he make it count? Well, I'm more confident in him doing so than in Moulson being more than a corpse. Take that as you will
  17. My concern with Ennis has little to do with the concussion, and everything to do with how he fits on the roster. He has the skills of a complementary player (a very good one, but complementary nonetheless) with the play style of a primary player. Can he effectively adapt his game to being the 3rd best player on his line? The injury robbed us of the chance to see last year, but the short run returns prior to the injury weren't great.
  18. We don't have the cap space to make a move like this. Or is Bolland one of those permanent LTIR contracts?
  19. I think Bailey's development will be better served getting big minutes in a prime offensive role in the AHL than with 8 minutes on the 4th line in the NHL.
  20. In trying to be cute with language, I failed to actually articulate a point. Sadness. Anyway, I agree with 3Putt's analysis. What I was trying to get at is the size, skating, physicality (or ability to be physical, anyway, since it's inconsistent)...he's everything you would think you'd want in a rugged shutdown defenseman. And then he steps on the ice and actually plays, and bleh.
  21. Of course he's not as bad as I paint him...that's what happens when you portray someone as the antichrist  Bogosian is so weird to me. Eye test says he's decent to good defensively and horrendous offensively, stats say he's horrendous defensively and decent to good offensively.
  22. Unless it's Kane-Eichel. That he'll give 15 games. Because speed! :wallbash:
  23. Not unfair. Though unless it's All-Star game level of competition, I think it'll be fun.
  24. In my view, he'd not there to finish--he'd there to work the boards for Jack and Samson and to cover for Jack defensively. If he ends up with 15 goals (which he did in 60 games the last time he was given a legit offensive role) while doing that other stuff, I think that's just fine.
