  1. Second time in three games.
  2. There is essentially zero reason to ever buy out his contract. It saves at most like a million on the cap, but extending the hit 2 years when we'll need cap space more is a pretty poor tradeoff IMO. I think there's a better chance he retires than Brandon gets fired :p
  3. I really don't think he has. He quits on plays and fails at the catch point way too often to be a reliable option moving the chains.
  4. I think WGR has gone pretty over the top with it. Tyrod has been bad, but Robert Woods is similarly indefensible.
  5. I hate Woods. I know the "everything is Tyrod's fault" bandwagon is a popular place to be, but I refuse to give Woods a pass for poor production.
  6. Not that I presume to speak for him, but pretty sure the business side has zero to do with Freeman's evaluation of Brandon.
  7. Salas out too. Reggie Bush expected to be a WR today. Lord, take me now
  8. For snake drafts, sure. But tons of strategy for auctions.
  9. I don't think it's excusing so much as it is understanding. Last Thursday I was teaching a unit on civil rights to a class ~80% racial minorities. Most of the class ended up being a discussion about police-related violence. A common sentiment throughout was along the lines of "We've been trying 'the system' for how long and it's still jot fixed. The system doesn't work for is. We try peaceful protest and we're told to sit down and shut up or leave the country. What else is there to do?" Across issues and nations, when a minority gets politically isolated and loses faith in institutions to address problems that affect them, they turn to methods outside of the institutions to express anger and/or promote change. Understanding how African Americans can come to violence and having some sympathy for it is not the same thing as saying it's okay, nor is it lowering expectations.
  10. Wow. That sucks.
  11. Give him every opportunity to win a job in camp and preseason, and if (when) he fails, to Rochester he goes. Hope he retires in a year.
  12. Awesome.
  13. Cue the Whaley going rogue jokes.
  14. Anyone who didn't laugh at this needs a new funny bone.
  15. If true, today's game is unlikely to stop the counting. Watkins AND Darby out? GET TO THE CHOPPA!
  16. As soon as Pi reads Trouba wants out.
  17. I like the Nationals because I love Bryce Harper for how much "traditional baseball" fans hate him.
  18. I didn't even know RIT had a football team
  19. Thought about putting this in the politics thread, but it's really just a kinda cool anecdote: grad school friend of mine spent today chilling with a bunch of West Wing cast members campaigning for Clinton in Ohio.
  20. There are very few "Trade Bogosian for ____" scenarios I'd dislike ;) Who is our current version of Joel Armia? Toss him in too :p
  21. Me too. But some around here (to say nothing of Murray/Bylsma) love McCabe. Be curious to know what opinion among league execs is of him. Ironically, I think Trouba would be a pretty great partner for McCabe.
  22. Coughlin is old as dirt, but he's been successful with two organizations as a head coach and I tend to think he got submarined by poor (and some unlucky) personnel moves by Reese.
  23. Yea, there's no way this is a fit for us because we can't have what could be > $16m in cap on the right side of the blue line. I'm not saying this because I hate him, but we'd have to move Bogosian in a separate deal for this to work. Wants to play on the right side--he's been playing left side apparently because of Byfuglien and Myers. Depending on what they think of him...McCabe+.
  24. I was thinking more along the lines of sending Bogosian back
  25. Feeling pretty good about my "Kucherov will score more goals than Stamkos" prediction right about now :D
