  1. I don't know how anyone could watch or listen to this debate without volunteering to be a Space-X test pilot. Well, I mean I know, but you get the point. I've been meaning to ask you and others who support him, but what is it about Gary Johnson as a candidate that gets you excited (other than he's not Hillary/Trump and not a Dem/Rep)? Is it as simple as socially liberal and fiscally conservative? If so, I get that...but man, as a candidate, he is just as unimpressive to me as the other two. Write. Me. In. Sure, I'm not constitutionally qualified yet, but that's the sort of detail that the 2016 cycle finds irrelevant.
  2. Dude, why'd you only tell We've to stop reading? None of us needed that image! You must like him more than the rest of us.
  3. @Thorny: Unfortunately, I know. But I still wanted to see more, and maybe enough of a spark would happen to get Bylsma's attention.
  4. What in the world? He's shown tremendous year-over-year growth. How is he not trending in the right direction?
  5. No, he certainly has some. It's just that the Sabres have more.
  6. As I've said before, my best guess is Risto's camp is eying Ekblad, while Murray is eying Jones/Rielly. There's around a $2 million annual gap there. I love me some Risto, but he's not Ekblad right now...Rielly and Jones are the appropriate comparables.
  7. OMG! You're the best. THE BEST!   D4rk, get her something nice for this.
  8. Goosebumps. Awesome.
  9. Pretty sure it would turn into the Kassian-Hodgson of Sabrespace wagers, however
  10. Dear Josie, I would like to formally request a new avatar for our dearest Eleven: an old, withered Gilbert, freezing in 60 degree weather. Thank you in advance. Sincerely, TrueBlue
  11. Larsson with Kane! Larsson with Kane! Okay, now I'm looking forward to a game tonight...that I can't watch. Sadness.
  12. Hence my surprise at such excitement regarding watching a collection of lifetime AHLers play hockey :p
  13. Good sirs, please calm down. Nobody should be this excited for the first preseason game.
  14. Going out on a limb here, but perhaps drafting from a car...with extracurriculars...was not a prudent strategy :p
  15. Scott Kacsmar ‏@FO_ScottKacsmar 3m3 minutes ago You ever play a Madden franchise for so many years that the opponent is filled with imaginary created players? That's the 2016 Bears D. Pretty sure I had this happen in every Madden from 2000-2004
  16. Well, I think it's hard to separate the two, as potential for breaking out is dependent upon opportunity, which is dependent upon lineups...and here we are :)
  17. "Caring about concussions will take hitting out of the game." - NHL front office dinosaurs, right now. I want to be clear up front that I don't expect this to be an option, but an interesting hypothetical: If Dak Prescott continues to impress and the Cowboys end up rolling with him, do you trade for Tony Romo in the offseason? If so, what are you willing to give up? He's 36 with a bad back and consecutive injury-plagued seasons...but he's also really, really good. If I'm in the top-10 and/or have a realistic chance to draft a QB I love I wouldn't move it, but if we muddle our way to pick 19 again or something, I don't hesitate on trading our 1st for him.
  18. Though I don't have a ton of hope for success, I'd like to see Ennis get extended time there if Zemgus flops--a high octane offensive specialist second line could work if Bylsma can consistently put them out in the right spots. But yea, Zemgus is my first choice, not only because he doesn't demand the puck on offense but also because of his defensive ability. Separately, almost all likely 4th line combinations make me want to vomit.
  19. I don't remember having any opinion at all on Wentz, but I have a general skepticism for guys nobody has heard of suddenly rocketing up the charts. I was with you on Goff and Lynch, but don't think I was quite as high on them. I really soured on Cook over the course of the process, and thought Hackenberg was undraftable. Cardale I expected to bust, but I'm not gonna kick and scream over using a supplemental 4th on somebody with his raw physical tools. I loved Winston a year ago and liked Mariota (though admittedly I thought he'd bust if forced to play right away), thought Gabbert was a total bum but liked Locker's upside, and so on. Yea, all over the place. Not that this is surprising, but I do think teams and attuned fans are pretty good at picking out guys who won't be good (as evidenced by how few after the 1st/2nd ever do anything). But projecting good to great? Who the hell knows. Just so many variables at the pro level, so few college teams requiring pro-level reads, WR route trees being extremely truncated in college, the giant talent disparity on a near-weekly basis, etc. Edit: On the Bills, I think the biggest difference in the offense today was the OL actually blocked people. Didn't see much else different.
  20. I'm getting caved in by Marvin Jones and Darren Sproles in another league. Heading for 0-3 there. Made the playoffs every year I've been in that league, but this season looks fugly for me.
  21. Don't be a wuss. I slept with my windows open last night!
  22. ...is Carson Wentz actually good? I become more convinced by the year that we don't know much of anything about which college QBs are good.
  23. Then we're on agreement: everyone's a hypocrite on at least some things at least some of the time :)
  24. Weren't you anti-tank? No tank for you! :p
  25. Saying the riots are about one incident of police violence is akin to saying the American Revolution was about the Stamp Act. I bet if we had a one on one for 20 minutes I could pry out of you at least a few hypocracies.
