Sure, goes without saying. I just have no confidence it happens. I do, however, believe in Girgensons rebounding and a lesser though still positive belief that Ennis rebounds (though I still question whether he can adapt his game to being 3rd wheel on a line).

Jack Eichel, will he play center/centre this season?

Isn't she married to Phaneuf? I'm not going to sit here and pretend I'd turn her down...but still, that knocks her down a peg or two. -
Yea, can't think of anyone other than Suter. I've said it before and I mean it in all seriousness: our Cup hopes depend more on Risto than on Jack. I'm not worried about the depth long term...unless Risto never develops into a true #1. Then our depth has to be a lot better, and getting that done at price points that fit together, is not an easy task.

F the Leafs.

I think expectations for Moulson are so low that anything above death on skates will impress people :p

Fair deuce.

Oh man, Columbus trading for Callahan would be perfect on so many levels

I thought Goligoski's contract was about as perfect as it gets in UFA. Yandle, on the other hand...that was nuts.
-
I remember thinking my 56k was a gift from God when I upgraded from a 14.4.
-
Goligoski! I hear you, still early. But as I've said before, it's probably the thing I'm watching most with respect to his roster construction.

Unfortunately, I'm not convinced Murray would target a Stralman :(
-
Their defense was still pretty weak as a whole, they just had enough scoring forward depth to compensate, along with a coach who recognized the weaknesses and was willing to play an aggressive style to mask them. I think we have to play an attacking style because our blue line has some offensive ability, but is pretty bad defensively. Solution: spend less time playing defense!

In a word: no.
-
And yet, their efforts pale in comparison to those of the NHL itself ;)

Well, Tampa isn't exactly overflowing with vets they want to trade and other teams want to trade for. Who is giving anything for Ryan Callahan's carcass at this point?

You have my condolences. It's better for everything, of course, but hockey is one of those things where HD makes a massive difference.

I can only assume Freeman hasn't read this, because he's usually good for a "that's what she said" when the situation begs for it.

Nobody who is elected president is going to have an easy time with Congress. Too much geopolitical polarization. Doesn't matter if it's Trump, Clinton or any 3rd party candidate. 3rd party candidates might actually have it the worst since they don't have an established friendly coalition to build off of.

Analyzing the bubble boys: who makes the team?
TrueBlueGED replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
It depends what Bylsma meant by 13th forward. If he meant it in the literal sense of 45 press box games and another 30 getting 6 minutes, then Rochester is the clear choice. But I'd like to imagine he simply meant we need an additional forward to carry and where in the lineup that player plays is dependent upon who it is. -
Remember when you said Ted Nolan wasn't going to be fired because if he was, he'd have been fired already? Yea, you're doing that again ;)
-
Politically? Yes. Partisan polarization is too strong for a state like NY to flip barring truly extraordinary circumstances.
-
Statistically, your vote is pretty worthless in any state, as the probability of casting the decisive ballot is functionally zero. Carry on. Oh, and upthread a few people mentioned that the Republicans could take NY with the right candidate...hooey. Only way the Republicans take NY in a presidential election is if the entire NYC metro region secedes or conditions align for a national landslide. That's it.

Nah, this was always my expectation: he's given every opportunity to succeed...and fails to do so.

Yay for stats that reinforce what my eyes saw! :D Just the first preseason game so no reason to freak out (Does this even have to be said? Should be the standard inference), but he really was hot garbage last night. Offensive instincts just non-existent.
