  1. I still might take Tannehill over Taylor, but they're in precisely the same tier IMO. Different strengths and weaknesses to be sure, but overall about the same level.
  2. I'm glad Matthews isn't playing--I prefer to save all of my hate-watching for games that matter.
  3. 1) I was referring specifically to your assertion that he doesn't see a difference between a Trump and Clinton presidency. I think his posts make pretty clear he sees a difference between them, but they both represent the output of a flawed system he wants fixed, hence the third party vote. 2) He's not people, he's a person. The decision he makes when he rolls out of bed on election day will have zero effect on what everyone else does.
  4. You're not reading what he's saying.
  5. Well that's some piss poor logic. CV, I'll respond to your post from last page when I get a chance later. Think we're talking past each other a bit.
  6. It still won't be as good as Canada, but if the Olympics are a go, the US can run a center spine of Eichel-Matthews-Johnson-Galchenyuk. That's the best group they've iced in at least three Olympics. I think they could mount a real challenge if the right choices are made with the rest of the roster.
  7. Pretty sure we would have if there was a reasonable deal to be made. But when Adam Larsson costs Taylor Hall...good luck.
  8. Such as? I did laugh at the second part. At least you have some awareness of Bogosian's problems. Apparently my anti-Bogo bias is contagious. Or...maybe....*audible gasp*....I have a legitimate point. What say you, Jsb?
  9. Maybe. After all, if he's logging 2nd unit PP time that's fewer minutes I have to watch him at even strength :p
  10. Franson's biggest problem is Risto. Everyone knows that Franson has to be very sheltered at even strength, and he's not adding any value there. But he can add significant value manning the point on the PP (I thought he looked good there tonight)...but with Risto having taken that over, Franson's ability to add value to the team is limited to second unit PP time, so pretty negligible.
  11. If nothing else, he's helping to validate my "most overrated prospect in the system" sentiment :)
  12. Remember when Crosby went like 19 playoff games without scoring? Small sample size fun.
  13. Every single grade I'm entering into my online gradebook is taking 30 seconds to save. I have a couple hundred grades to enter. Ugh.
  14. I just don't think he was under enough pressure to get MVP. But I don't think I care enough to debate further. In fact, I know I don't :p
  15. I know the numbers are great, but how much did he actually have to do?
  16. Crosby belongs in the pantheon with Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr. It's not his fault he plays in an era where the NHL has lost its mind. (If anybody wants to punch me for this at the Sabrespace meetup, I won't hold it against you...but please have the courtesy to wait until I'm inebriated) Edit: I forgot Howe in the pantheon. I'm sorry, he certainly belongs.
  17. I'll just go stare at my toilet during our power plays.
  18. At what point does a "gaffe" become a gross lack of intellectual curiosity and respect for what it takes to be president for a guy polling at 10% nationally? Even if I were willing to grant the Aleppo thing as a gaffe or brain freeze in the moment (which, I grant, does happen)...shouldn't that be a signal to somebody pursuing the most important job in the country to bone up on some foreign policy stuff? I don't think it's inherently partisan to suggest not doing so is a significant problem. Further, I have a theory that being staunchly anti-partisan installs a filter functionally nearly identical to what strong partisans are subject to. Yup. I also disagree that corruption is all it's cracked up to be, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.
  19. I was born in 1985 :) My parents took me to Lake Placid on vacation when I was younger, and I could feel the aura of that place, for whatever it's worth. I'd say I'd kill to have been an adult sports fan for it, but then I'd be old now, so naaaaaah :nana:
  20. http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/algae-bloom-makes-hoyt-lake-off-limits-20160929?utm_campaign=puma&utm_medium=social&utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1475205058 I mean...who is even thinking about going in Hoyt Lake when it's 60 out? Maybe it's warmer than Eleven's bedroom, but other than that...
  21. I can't believe the Crosby hate has made me a Crosby fan. It makes me want to shower in bleach, actually.
  22. *Fast forwards to 2017* This is the year Tannehill proves how good he is! Really! Sure we've said it every year for the past four years, but this year we mean it! Or something like that.
  23. Lots of truth in here, I think. I know American hockey fans cared in 1996.
  24. Meh, at least we get O'Reilly back now.
  25. I can't wait to see this. I really hate how slow all of our skaters seem to go in on shootouts.
