I'll be home for Labor Day weekend. It'll be the first time since middle school that I'm not greeted by a big, lovable golden retriever when I walk in my parents' front door. He wasn't sick very long. I'm grateful to hear that you got that bonus year, but still saddened to hear this news. Hang in there!
Ouch. I don't think I know whereabouts in Columbus you are... What's your commute?
And yeah, speed bumps suck. They recently re-paved a road by me and totally tore out the speed bumps. I was ecstatic when there was a delay in reinstalling them. Except then they put them back in, and made them even bigger than before. But, joke's still on them. They're bigger, but much more elongated than before. So they're actually way smoother, and no one slows down. I'm waiting for them to make them worse again lol.
I have to go 670 to 270 heading East. I've even true staying at work late, but that interchange is still backed up as late as 6:30. Bleh.

With the construction going on the way home from my place of employment, it is currently taking me a minimum of 1 hour to go 11 miles. Minimum.
Second traffic complaint: they installed speed bumps in my neighborhood. Nothing like making people go under the speed limit to avoid destroying their alignment.

I can't believe the board is now nitpicking the number of cars..err people... err commuters errr.. whatever in Buffalo.
Good lord. Use your sparetime for social good. ?
Oh great, now we're going to debate what constitutes a social good ?

Correct. It's just easier to show/see the crazy with social media.

Or maybe it's that living an absolute life is not the path to balance.
Being all Light or Dark, Jedi or Sith does not create balance within oneself.
So, you need a little bit of both to get you through. ?
It's almost like this is a really interesting path Rian Johnson set the course for that JJ Abrams will almost certainly reverse. Bleh.

He can't sign a LT deal at this point. (Per what had been written about his situation. Not an NFL CBA expert by any stretch.) Either he signs his tender or he doesn't play. And he needs to sign that to get traded anywhere. And, just like Houston, that new team can't sign him to a LT deal until the next off-season.
Which is why supposedly only Miami and Buffalo are interested in him and at most they'd give up Lawson, Jones (or an expendable RB), & a 3rd round or day 3 pick to land him for a year.
Ah, missed that somehow. Carry on.

I agree 100% with the bolded but there is NFW that Bogo is re-signed. He can't stay healthy and his D zone play nose-dived last year IMHO.
OTOH, if he plays 65+ games this year, I agree that someone will sign him. But it won't be the Sabres.
Thinking we need someone to clear the net is one thing. Thinking Bogosian is the guy to do it is quite another. Bogo is melted butter soft in front of the net at least as often as he clears anyone out, to say nothing of his coverage lapses.

Isn't half the reason Houston is looking to trade Clowney that he won't sign anything less than long term? I can't imagine he's getting traded anywhere without a long term deal in place.

Honestly I don't blame them for being upset. They went from SB favorite with years of serious contention ahead of them to 8-8 overnight, that's a hard pill to swallow
I don't blame them for being upset in the "well, this sucks" sense. But booing him for valuing his own health? Weakest of the weak sauce.

Auctions are pretty hard to get to work well online, in my opinion. As I'm consuming more beer than I should on a work night, how am I supposed to fit in my piss breaks in an auction format?

I honestly don't even know if they'll draft that high. Brissett obviously isn't Luck, but he's a Fitz-level guy who can get them in the 7-win range.

10 works for me.

And our punters sukFair. Our kicking game in general is apparently subpar. I say apparently because I haven't watched a single snap.

Which means that our depth has improved while our starters aren’t there yet
It's the preseason. Nothing means anything. Except injuries if they linger into the regular season. Those mean something.

Does Yzermans apparent love of Risto’s game move the needle for any Risto stats truthers out there?
An Eklund post doesn't demonstrate anything other than something imaginary.
Edit: I just noticed the reputable source who said Detroit is interested. In that case...no, it still doesn't move the needle for me. If Detroit makes the move and gives us something of legitimate value, then maybe I'll raise an eyebrow.

Gore, Spain, and Levi Wallace hurt so far. GG
Sean McDermott, building "something special" one senseless injury at a time. I'm not watching, but it's all so pointless.

Please PM me an email address I can send the fantasy invite too. Would like to have everyone in asap.
There is also a 4th missing but I can't pin down who it is.
We are moving to Yahoo so if you have not done so already please PM me an email address so I can send link to join the league!
I'll get it to you by the end of the day. I expect the anticipation will be painful and you'll be spending your day hitting F5.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Geico. Hit a deer, paid $0, and had no rate increase. Their roadside rescued me on Thanksgiving day when my engine blew, towed me to a farther dealer than they had to at no cost. All for less than I've found with any other company. Hard to complain.

Noone commenting on the Adam Henrique part of that report. Are we averse to Henrique coming back in exchange for Risto?
1 hour ago, dudacek said:Looks a lot like Turris to me, similar age, similar contract, similar play.
So yes, most will be averse, even if he is the cap dump along with Kase.
If he was the main piece, a better word would be apoplectic.
I'd rather have Turris because Turris at his best was a really good 2C. Henrique has been spectacularly mediocre his entire career.
12 minutes ago, Thorny said:Exactly what I wanted to hear thoughts on. Does Henrique represent a cap dump and does it make a trade with Anaheim where Kase is the main piece coming back a bad trade?
I don't know enough about Kase to know it would be a bad trade, but Henrique has an Okposo-bad contract.

Chad DeDominicis had some interesting things to say about a potential Risto on his podcast. He mentioned after conversations he had their is a 70% chance that Risto is not a Sabre come training camp. There is a belief the Sabres will get something done prior to training camp. He mentioned that the previous suspects Detroit, Florida, Anaheim and Winnipeg are likely partners. He was told a Western Conference Team was most interested and he believes that the framework of a deal is in place. He believes that it is waiting for one or two things to happen around the league and that Risto's Agent could be told in the next week or so a trade has happened.
He has heard that Anaheim was interested in Risto and he was discussed around the time of the Montour Trade. Ondrej Kase is Botterill's reported ask, but Anaheim wants Buffalo to take a contract back either Henrique or Kesler(both have trade protection though).
With Winnipeg would it be Roslovic and Perrault? Or Roslovic and a pick?
Roslovic would probably get a shot as RW on Eichel's Line or does Botterill send the pick to LA for Tyler Toffoli and there is Eichel's RW.
Toffoli at 4.6 Million and Roslovic at 860k would be a wash with Ristolanen's Salary leaving.
Both Toffoli(8), Roslovic(7) and of course Risto (1)are on The Hockey News Ten Top Trade List
If Botterill takes a bad contract back in a Risto trade he should be fired before he's able to make the trade call. Especially if that bad contract doesn't have a bona-fide 2C attached to it.

There’s way to much money to be had by Sony to not figure this out. They finally have the franchise working, they can’t afford to reboot it for the 18th time.
Yea. I think this was Sony's way of saying Disney isn't getting 50% of the box office. They probably end up around a 70/30 split. I'm sure there's a number that Sony is willing to cede to avoid the financial risk of going it alone again.

I’ve been out of football for years now and trying to get back into it. Is Clowney all that he was hyped up to be in college and what would a deal for him look like?
No. He's a very good player who would immediately upgrade our DE position, but he's not the game-changer Houston thought they were drafting. He also has a huge injury history. No clue what a deal for him would look like, but it's probably more than I'd be willing to commit.

Care to be a bit more specific? I expect zilch, so the bar to being a "bigger contributor" is basically the ground. Clearing that doesn't mean he'll be a valuable piece on the team.
He was also terrible in his 41 games in St. Louis.
It didn't seem to defy physics, it did. So long as we're talking about the physics of hitting the net.
