Trump's not winning PA--he hasn't been within 5 there in months. Take out a second mortgage on Clinton winning PA and you can thank me later.

This mental image is beyond amazing. Perfect contract. Now let's win some hockey games. Applying an untrue stereotype rather than arguing on the merits is always the best approach. It buys 2 UFA years doesn't it? Edit: Time to pony up Freeman! :nana:

There is no contract issue with Moulson and I'm tired of seeing it asserted there is. We have to pay him regardless--there's no compelling reason to play him if there are superior options elsewhere. And none of those prospects you listed have exactly beaten down the door to the NHL yet...I see zero wrong with giving our team more (and potentially better) options for this season when the cost is nil.

He may not be, but getting rid of him this year wasn't going to do anything to improve our depth. Edit: Honestly, looking at the list of comparable contracts this season...he probably is worth (have to manually sort the list by year) it. http://www.generalfanager.com/contracts/comparables?contract=5132

There's a reason some (many?) of us have been clamoring for more NHL-caliber depth. Right. I don't think he's been bad or anything, but I also don't think he's earned much of anything. Could just be the preferred option until Risto is signed. I laughed a little. Then cried a lot.

Agreed. As a bubble team, it all matters.
-
I interpreted it as the full 9 game trial and then make a decision.
-
Interesting. In the few games I saw him play, I didn't really see any compelling reason to keep him here this season. Was pretty meh to my eye.
-
I don't understand the fear of losing him as a UFA. The aren't your Golisano Sabres. We're good, we'll pay, he'll stay. A 6 year deal is not only fine, but the market standard right now.
-
Yup. It's also worth noting we played extremely well in NE last season. There's a chance!
-
I wholeheartedly disagree with this analysis. Trump's use of Russian propaganda is because he and his campaign are wholly incompetent. It's not an extension of previous party strategy.
-
This'll get done, and my guess is for about Jones' $5.4 million. Now, everyone accusing Murray of being unreasonable can apologize, since obviously Risto's camp was the unreasonable one. Apologize to Timmy! :p

There's a massive difference between politicians doing what politicians do, and a foreign government directly interfering with our elections because one candidate is a buffoon.
-
Dude c'mon. Pushing misinformation from a foreign government (to say nothing of an adversarial authoritarian) is completely unprecedented. I also don't think they intentionally did so, which was my point...lack of ability or willingness of the candidate and/or campaign to vet things if they fit with the candidate's narrative. Guy would get played like a fiddle on the world stage.

There's a whole lot of ifs, maybes, and hopefullys in there. But he hasn't signed there, as far as I can tell.

Baseball is really interfering with my watching of syndicated Seinfeld.

For this year, maybe. I was working under the assumption if we get Fowler that Kulikov is long gone after this season, though.
-
That's a tough one. Assuming the requisite trades could be worked out, I think I'd rather run Kulikov-Risto and McCabe-Trouba as my top-4 than Fowler-Risto and McCabe-Bogosian.
-
My first stop is usually RCP. I could also be misremembering the media combos. I'll take a look when I get home later.

Suddenly my ~2/3 of a pot per day seems perfectly acceptable. Thanks

I didn't mean to accuse you of supporting Trump's proposed approach. Apologies if it came off that way. I'm not sure many (outside of the uber partisans) around here are nonchalant about it so much as the reality of the alternative has pushed it down the pecking order. Personally I care a great deal about cyber security and if the Republicans had offered somebody qualified to do the job I'd be leaving the top of my ballot blank (see, I'm not going to pretend I could cast a vote for somebody ideologically a grand canyon away from me on policy, but I'd be more than happy to not vote for Clinton)...but Trump. He's worth the protest vote. I think he cares about winning, but this is just who he is. He's an oaf who has been able to domineer and leverage his way successfully to this point, and lacks any feeling of the need to change, or even a base level of intellectual curiosity.
