It's not a model at all, it's just the average scored by players in X league compared to how many they scored in the NHL the next season.

I think too many would be doing it for reasons other than messing with a QB. Just not something I'd be interested in joining in on.

It had Matthews like 10 lower than Jack as rookie, but so few players have moved from the Swiss league to the NHL I'm not sure how predictive it really is for Matthews.

Yea, that's not what I think of when somebody says skating. I'd imagine a bunch of video work, as I'm sure he wasn't too worried about it playing summer league in Boston.

This year the additional cap hit is irrelevant. We have the space and we're not using it on anything else. If a trade magically appeared where we needed a million in space, we could just send the contract to Rochester (these guys are all cheap). I also think Moulson is more than just an expensive spare...I think he's an expensive negative. There's a difference. I'm not not signing them to be better than our top-6 or even top-9...I'm signing them because they're a better option than Deslauriers moving up a line the second an injury happens. I don't think the signing tells the kids they're not getting a chance, it tells them they're not guaranteed a chance. Important difference. And I do think Pulkkinen could have a chance at a future here. Better than the kids we have? Maybe, maybe not. Let's let them find out.

In light of me being educated on the CBA, I'd like to revise my "perfect deal" down to merely a great deal. :D I still really like that his next deal will (if all goes well) encompass his 27-35 years rather than 29-37. And let's be honest, the best part of this whole thing is it confirms that Pi has no sources :p
