  1. However bad they may be this year, little brings me closer to home than putting on the Bills for my Sunday afternoon. Let's go boys!
  2. Need to get our franchise playing like a team at all levels - right now it feels like our whole organization does what we've describes.
  3. Dahlin and Nylander were pretty good. That was a pretty frustrating game. Should have been a call at the end there.
  4. Borgen, keep that shot 6 inches off the ice.
  5. I'm a little sad this is the game that most Sabrespacers can see. Last night really felt like all was right with the world. There's still time for some magic though.
  6. He's got hard elbows that do an easy job of giving him some space when it gets crowded. He was less loose with the puck last night, I think his success is going to his head a little bit! The stream disappearing for a minute was on their end, not ours. It should be back to normal now hopefully.
  7. Tage never did that in the NHL games I saw. Mitts needs to use his teammates in transition
  8. We're having a much tougher time with Boston's closing speed and positioning, which are both very good. Were still able to get two nice stretches of puck control for several minutes. Dahlin still making decisions and passes with ease despite less space.
  9. He's a seventh round selection from a couple years ago, and he's a fan-favorite because of his happy-go-lucky attitude. He has an incredibly good time at prospect camp and his twitter feed is always fun to read while it's going on, and he has creative goal celebrations.
  10. It was only one single guy for everyone though last night, and he's attending which is why he can't tonight. So we'll see.
  11. There was one youtube stream but that guy isn't streaming tonight. We'll see if anyone else picks up the slack in either Boston or Buffalo, you'd have to think one person would
  12. Problem: Person who breaks rules to help people watch Sabres prospect scrimmages is unable to do so tonight
  13. ...you literally got me I'll go do my work now
  14. This will only be logically consistent 4 weeks from now, as Eichel didn't sign until early October. But your conclusion was made when Matthews didn't do what you did, even though his path had him prepared enough to finish 2nd in the NHL in goal scoring during his rookie season.
  15. You'd have a hard time convincing me Larsson is a better player than Asplund right this second. It still might be best for Asplund to start in Rochester, but that doesn't mean Larsson won't get beat out by other guys.
  16. The crazy thing is, all these videos missed his best skating, defensive, and passing moments. He skates even prettier during all of that.
  17. According to drunken Peter Chiarelli, sure. Or did I miss Matthews signing a contract? This is nonsense. After a 56 and a 57 point season, Eichel being a team guy could have taken a 7.5 million dollar contract. 10 mil for that production at that time with an obvious projection is fine with me, but it is absolutely not taking one for the team.
  18. Luukkonen is in net tonight.
  19. From Hamilton's article, Dahlin said: “It’s a smart way when the D join the rush, no one really thinks it’s going to happen, so I feel it’s a smart way.” This kid is amazing
  20. Carolina Hurricanes Record last season: 36-35-11, 83 points, 6th in the Metro Playoffs: None Coach: Rod Brind'Amour GM: Don Waddell Captain: Justin Williams GF: 225 (23rd) GA: 253 (22nd) PP: 18.4% (23rd) PK: 77.5% (23rd) Top 5G: 1.) Sebastian Aho (29) 2.) Jeff Skinner (24) 3.) Teuvo Teravainen (23) 4.) Jordan Staal (19) 5.) Justin Williams (16) Top 5A: 1.) Teuvo Teravainen (41) 2.) Sebastian Aho (36) 3.) Justin Williams (35) 4.) Elias Lindholm (28) 5.) Jordan Staal (27) Top 5 PTS: 1.) Sebastian Aho (65) 2.) Teuvo Teravainen (64) 3.) Justin Williams (51) 4.) Jeff Skinner (49) 5.) Jordan Staal (46) Key Additions: Michael Ferland (LW), Andrei Svechnikov (RW), Jordan Martinook (C), Dougie Hamilton (D), Calvin de Haan (D), Petr Mraazek (G) Key Losses: Elias Lindholm (C), Noah Hanifin (D), Cam Ward (G), Derek Ryan (C), Lee Stempniak (RW), Joakim Nordstrom (LW), Jeff Skinner (LW) Projected Lineup: Zykov - Aho - Teravainen Ferland - Necas - Svechnikov McGinn - Staal - Williams Foegele - Rask - Maenalanen Slavin - Hamilton de Haan - Pesce van Riemsdyk - Faulk Darling Mrazek Top Prospects we might/might not see 1.) Andrei Svechnikov, RW, 2nd overall 2018 2.) Martin Necas, C, 1st round 2017 3.) Jake Bean, D, 1st round 2016 4.) Adam Fox, D, trade with CGY 5.) Warren Foegele, 2nd round 2014 My thoughts Carolina's problems all come down to top-end scoring and goaltending. Neither have been fixed for this season, but the pieces are slowly falling into place. Teravainen, Aho, and Svechnikov will be as good a core of top 6 wings as any team will have in the league, and Necas is going to be at least a 2C with a good chance at being a 1C, so they really just need to find one more top six center somewhere and then let things marinate. For now, though, the group will be underwhelming even if Svechnikov bursts onto the scene. Their top 4 D will continue to be elite at suppressing shots. Yes, they have 4 defensemen better than Justin Faulk, which is pretty crazy. The problem is, they are likely to continue their stretch of by far the worst goaltending over the last 5 years. Darling is dreadful. As long as this position remains the worst in the league they won't be going anywhere, but will be good enough otherwise to finish in the low 80s in points. If things all pull together they could be a wildcard team. I don't see their floor lower than 80 points, but they likely won't beat that by much.
  21. You just aren't nuanced enough to understand bro
  22. 1.) Matthews played his predraft season in europe 2.) pi played ncaa hockey what more evidence do you need? yes, that is all he goes on.
  23. That this conversation is happening in this thread suggests that nfreeman isn't out to lunch, and that perspective is missing from the other half of the conversation too, if any is missing from what he's fleshed out here.
  24. Dahlin loved that crowd. Wait til he scores 3 minutes into game 1. His mind is gonna be blown
  25. I don't know how someone can so confidently stand by something with that foundation. And I know pi likes to mess around. But he's serious there, you can tell. What I'm 100% convinced of is that no matter what happens, there will be a lens through which he can see himself as having been completely correct.
