  1. He'll be up in no time, and won't go back.
  2. I realize that the boldface/underline is obnoxious. I'm going to change that
  3. Here's the full list condensed in one space:
  4. Team Predictions Sabres' Final Record: 35 - 42 - 5, 75 points, 6th in the Atlantic Total Goals Scored: 221 Total Goals Allowed: 250 Power Play Ranking: 15th PK Ranking: 24th All-Star Players: Jack Eichel Award Winners/Finalists: Dahlin is a Calder Finalist, doesn't win it Player Predictions Top 3 goal scorers 1.) Jack Eichel (35) 2.) Jeff Skinner (29) 3.) Sam Reinhart (28) (big cliff after this) Top 3 point totals 1.) Jack Eichel (84) 2.) Sam Reinhart (58) 3.) Jeff Skinner (52) Sabres' best rookie: Dahlin Biggest surprise: Pilut is our 3rd best defenseman by April Biggest disappointment: Bogosian disappoints the 3 people who actually expected anything good from him, my pick is Rodrigues playing himself off the team after having the leading ES scoring rate on the team while playing with bottom-tier wingers last year How many games/wins for the goalies? Ullmark: 35 games, 15 wins Hutton: 45 games, 20 wins other(injuries): 2 games 0 wins
  5. Alright, I tried to push others to make this but nobody is biting and I'm procrastinating. I made a league-wide prediction thread a little while ago. Now it's time to look at our team. I'll just spit out random categories and you can guess which player fits best! Team Predictions Sabres' Final Record: Total Goals Scored: Total Goals Allowed: Power Play Ranking: PK Ranking: All-Star Players: Award Winners/Finalists: Player Predictions Top 3 goal scorers 1.) 2.) 3.) Top 3 point totals 1.) 2.) 3.) Sabres' best rookie: Biggest surprise: Biggest disappointment: How many games/wins for the goalies? Ullmark: Hutton: other(injuries): If anyone has any other suggestions for categories I can edit them in. For reference on the team scoring numbers, last season the league leader had 290 (followed by 273, 270) and the bottom 3 were 207, 206, and 198. The middle teams had 235-245 goals. Goals against, top 3: 202, 204, 209. Middle few: 235-240 Bottom 3: 278, 284, 293
  6. How often has a team ever done this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ New post: IMO, they're getting sent down because they're not very good and didn't make the team. I guess I was kind of assuming Hunwick was still around in that case, but I forgot that his injury sounds long-term.
  7. Asking from ignorance, in what situation would we put guys who have to go through waivers, through waivers, and risk losing them, if we weren't planning on sending them down?
  8. We have like 3 more moves to make it seems, right? Adding Guhle and Pilut to Mustache of God's list. probably one forward and two defensemen. Probably Guhle, Pilut, and then one of Girg/Larsson/Wilson/Tage/Nylander/Mitts. Preferably Beaulieu, Guhle, and Larry IMO
  9. Does anyone have the full list of who is left now?
  10. They made the exact choice I wanted them to. F*ck yeah. (or maybe that's a bad thing lol) And separately, that sucks for those guys.
  11. Toronto Maple Leafs Record last season: 49-26-7, 105 points, 3rd in Atlantic Playoffs: Lost in first round to Boston Coach: Mike Babcock GM: Kyle Dubas Captain: Vacant GF: 270 (3rd) GA: 230 (12th) PP: 25.0% (2nd) PK: 81.4% (10th) Top 5G: 1.) JVR (36) 2.) Auston Matthews (34, in 62 games, 45 goal pace) 3.) Nazem Kadri (32) 4.) Patrick Marleau (27) 5.) Mitch Marner (22) Top 5A: 1.) Mitch Marner (47) 2.) Jake Gardiner (47) 3.) Morgan Rielly (46) 4.) William Nylander (41) 5.) Tyler Bozak (32) Top 5 PTS: 1.) Mitch Marner (69) 2.) Auston Matthews (63) 3.) William Nylander (61) 4.) Nazem Kadri (55) 5.) JVR (54) Key Additions: John Tavares (C), Par Lindholm (C), Josh Jooris (C), Tyler Ennis (W) Key Losses: JVR (LW), Tyler Bozak (C), Leo Komarov (C), Roman Polak (D), Dominic Moore (C), Tomas Plekanec (C), Matt Martin (LW) Projected Lineup: Marleau - Matthews - Nylander Hyman - Tavares - Marner Johnsson - Kadri - Brown Ennis - Lindholm - Kapanen Rielly - Hainsey Gardiner - Zaitsev Dermott - Carrick Andersen McElhinney Top Prospects we might/might not see 1.)Kasperi Kapanen, RW, trade 2.) Timothy Liljegren, D, 1st round 2017 3.) Travis Dermott, D, 2nd round 2015 4.) Rasmus Sandin, 1st round, 2018 5.) Carl Grundstrom, LW, 2nd round 2016 My thoughts In Bozak and JVR they lost guys that put up points but were a bit maddening hockey players at ES. They lost some old/bad depth, and are replacing it all with youth like Johnsson, who is freakin fast, and Kapanen, who is freakin fast. THe whole organization is the fastest in the league really. They skate fast and play fast. Oh, and they added Tavares too. So their top six is the best top six in the league that isn't Pittsburgh's. Goal scoring centers with playmakers on the wing? Interesting. We can hope for a few things to derail the leafs - Matthews asking for 12, Marner asking for 10, Nylander asking for 10. Nylander not signing a contract and sitting the year. The continued dominance of Boston/TB forcing them out in the first again. While their defense is still their weak point, Dermott is rock solid, Liljegren is promising, and Sandin had an outstanding preseason. It will never be their focal point and will never have to be, and they were comfortably in the top half of the league in defensive numbers, so I don't think it'll cripple them. This team's floor is first round exit, and their ceiling is breaking their cup drought.
  12. Eyelid twitch
  13. Quote from poster who attended game: "Imo Nylander did enough tonight to make the team. He worked his a** off tonight. His positioning was so good. So many times he was intercepting passes stripping guys of pucks because he was in the perfect place. His line mates didn’t help him much tonight."
  14. It also sounds like Barzal is going to have a ridiculous year. He has the abilities to become the second best player from that draft. I said it.
  15. There's a cool piece published by the Athletic today about Chris Ivory.
  16. Sounds like Nylander had his strongest game of the preseason so far, from what that poster is saying. Good news. Casey Mittelstadt was apparently also solid, none of the mistakes we saw him making earlier. My biggest question mark remains the existence of Tennyson.
  17. Here's Reinhart to Skinner.
  18. I'm not sure if that's really accurate too, or if that poster is just a pessimist of sorts. Probably is though. Just relaying the info. Score update? I mean I do trust most hockey fans who seek out and register on forums to be able to tell if one team is playing better than another, so probably
  19. Tampa Bay Lightning Record last season: 54-23-5, 113 points, 1st in the Atlantic Playoffs: Lost game 7 of the ECF vs. Washington Coach: Jon Cooper GM: Steve Yzerman Captain: Steven Stamkos GF: 290 (1st) GA: 234 (13th) PP: 23.9% (3rd) PK: 76.1% (28th) Top 5G: 1.) Nikita Kucherov (39) 2.) Brayden Point (32) 3.) Steven Stamkos (27) 4.) Yanni Gourde (25) 5.) Tyler Johnson (21) Top 5A: 1.) Nikita Kucherov (61) 2.) Steven Stamkos (59) 3.) Victor Hedman (46) 4.) Yanni Gourde (39) 5.) Brayden Point (34) Top 5 PTS: 1.) Nikita Kucherov (100) 2.) Steven Stamkos (86) 3.) Brayden Point (66) 4.) Yanni Gourde (64) 5.) Victor Hedman (63) Key Additions: None Key Losses: Chris Kunitz (LW), Andrej Sustr (D) Projected Lineup: Miller - Stamkos - Kucherov Palat - Point - Johnson Killorn - Cirelli - Gourde Erne - Pacquette - Joseph Hedman - Stralman McDonagh - Sergachev Coburn - Girardi Vasilevskiy Domingue Top Prospects we might/might not see 1.) Cal Foote, D, 1st round 2017 2.) Boris Katchouk, LW, 2nd round 2016 3.) Taylor Raddysh, RW, 2nd round 2016 4.) Anthony Cirelli, C, 3rd round 2015 5.) Mathieu Joseph, late 2015 My thoughts Best forward group in the league. The team had 9 players hit 40 points, 6 with 20 goals. On top of that, JT Miller was added and went nearly a point per game with them in his 19 games, and Palat would have hit both of those numbers with a full season. That is utterly insane. So much talent and Cal Foote is a legit top prospect too. Watch for Erne to be this year's random 20 goal 40 point TBL rookie. Point is a ridiculously good shutdown center (who can score 30G 60 PTS while doing it at 21) and that second line beats all but the one centered by Geno in Pittsburgh. Hedman won the Norris and their D matches up with any that isn't Nashville/SJ's. Vasi is great. Cup contender, end of story.
  20. Guy on hfboards is in the arena watching and says we're getting outplayed quite handily, but goalies have been the difference.
  21. San Jose Sharks Record last season: 45-27-10, 100 points, 3rd in the Pacific Playoffs: Lost in second round to Vegas Coach: Peter DeBoer GM: Doug Wilson Captain: Joe Pavelski GF: 247 (13th) GA: 226 (9th) PP: 20.6% (16th) PK: 84.8% (2nd) Top 5G: 1.) Logan Couture (34) 2.) Joe Pavelski (22) 3.) Tomas Hertl (22) 4.) Timo Meier (21) 5.) Chris Tierney (17) Top 5A: 1.) Brent Burns (55) 2.) Joe Pavelski (44) 3.) Kevin Labanc (29) 4.) Justin Braun (28) 5.) Logan Couture (27) Top 5 PTS: 1.) Brent Burns (67) 2.) Joe Pavelski (66) 3.) Logan Couture (61) 4.) Tomas Hertl (46) 5.) Kevin Labanc (40) Key Additions: Erik Karlsson (D) Key Losses: Mikkel Boedker (RW), Jannik Hansen (RW), Joel Ward (RW), Eric Fehr (C), Paul Martin (D), Chris Tierney (C) Projected Lineup: Hertl - Couture - Labanc Kane - Thornton - Pavelski Meier - Suomela - Donskoi Sorensen - Goodrow - Karlsson Vlasic - Karlsson Ryan - Burns Dillon - Braun Jones Dell Top Prospects we might/might not see 1.) Ryan Merkley, D, 1st round 2018 2.) Dylan Gambrell, C, 3rd round 2016 3.) Mario Ferraro, D, 2nd round 2017 4.) Maxim Letunov, C, trade 5.) Scott Reedy, C, 4th round 2017 My thoughts The forward lineup is just plain solid. Meier will keep getting better and is already a great complementary piece, same with Labanc. Nobody is playing ahead of where they should be, and this unit should be comfortably in the top half of the league. The goalies, solid. They'll be just fine. That defensive unit makes the group as a whole a threat to win the Stanley Cup. One of Karlsson or Burns will essentially be on the ice all game long. Dillon-Braun are a good a 3rd pair as any in the NHL. It should be fun to watch, and I predict big things from this team. Good for E. Kane.
  22. Has anyone done a Sabres-related prediction thread yet?
  23. If Tennyson makes the team...
  24. I'd bet we both agree that we hope the kids can be good enough to steal a spot from Bailey/Baptiste, regardless of underlying meaning of tonight's lines
  25. My guess is the first thing you said, and from what I saw this preseason, I'm good with it. I hope Jack/Risto/Scandy are good to go Thursday. Has anyone asked Housley about that?
