I do remember Weave/PA/ink not being completely enamored with Eichel before things spoiled, but as far as everyone else goes, it's funny how many people apparently saw through him (here, hf, twitter, this sentiment has been quite widespread over the last 2 years) and didn't really like him considering the sentiments I vividly recall being more or less universal back then. All I know is that both teams' rosters looked like trash at the time of each draft. Seattle played that way for a year too. But a lot of those crummy players had room to develop more than you'd expect, likely because they had never/would never get the higher opportunities the expansion teams afforded them (Karlsson, McCann, borgen etc) on the teams from which they were chosen. Then good coaching and management decisions helped move things along quickly

There are infinitely many ways to build a team that wins like that. But each one requires tuning every knob you possibly can, maximally towards winning. Every little thing you do has to be done with intense purpose and desire. It is no guarantee but you aren't getting anywhere without this. It's the reason why I will continue to pick at the way adams chooses to phrase things. And sometimes the way he chooses to conduct his job

But UPL and Subban are bad and horrible, respectively. Handling the goalie situation like this would be a fire-worthy offense, and would have a good probability of being the SOLE reason the team misses the playoffs.

This is silly Dude played his butt off and tried to be the best he could be like any reasonable hockey player would. Nothing ever worked, and he said he wanted out if we were going to do a rebuild, which we wanted to do, then the neck stuff happened His last full season here he was an awesome, awesome hockey player, I still vividly remember a lot of those games

I watched it again, there was a bit of a clip but all of the contact was initiated by Stephenson, Forsling didn't move an inch outside of the skating track that was looping him back around. Reminds me of those times when players step on a stick and fall and draw the call

I didn't watch the last one with a microscope, but did not see Stephenson get touched in any meaningful way. He jumped right between the 2 players and decided not to land on his skates it looked like

I agree the refs seem really slanted, but I don't agree that Florida would have won in regulation. I didn't see every second of the game but they looked terrible for most of the parts I saw. And had just 16 shots on goal through 95% of the game. They look spent, not like a cup finalist
