  1. Agreed. I thought He played well. It was just on game. The coaching staff of Sweden disagreed in an important close game. Dahlin could have also peeled off his man to get to the scorer or in front of the shot on the third goal. Players make decisions Brodin's was bad and Dahlin's resulted in a goal also. Point was if Andersson plays next game, who's coming out? Probably not one of the "heroes".
  2. And how many Russians are on the Sabres, that would make the tournament roster? For that matter Czechs (the country with the next highest amount of NHL players) Original Point: If our best players are not good enough nor perceived good enough to make or play significant time on these rosters, then how good are these players. They are certainly not bringing any Stanley Cup (or even winning) pedigree. More of an indictment on the front office. More fuel for the fire.
  3. Not that your point is relevant to the above. The current Stanley Cup Champions have 8 players in the tournament. The current points percentage leader (whatever that has done) haven't won **** yet.
  4. Sabres' best player got 17:15 of ice time in a 74 minute game. Zero pp or pk time. Pretty Much the same as Brodin who had a goal and a higher +/-. The Swedish roster carries 7 defensemen. It looks like the Sabres' "Superstar" is the most likely be a healthy scratch, when Andersson comes in. Put that in perspective. Our best offensive player seems not to even have gotten a sniff of the USA roster. As per the broadcast last night, it seems UPL will probably not see the ice.
  5. New to strategy: shoot the gd puck
  6. If you can’t win a face off quit icing the puck.
  7. Does anyone else have to watch the terrible Rangers feed. They do player spotlight every time Fox is on the ice and shrink the game to less than half the screen to show Fox skate around on a super close up. It could be the absolute worst graphic in the history of sports.
  8. Penguins have the worst logo in all pro sports. 3/4 of their jersey variations are god awful. Their best jerseys (light blues) don’t have either the logo or the team colors.
  9. So tired of the blind backhand passes. They served Villa Lieno well.
  10. There are no more Claude Lemieux's. A player that brought it mostly during play. Now we have idiots like Kesler, Kadri, and Marchard who are only tough after the whistle when they can just skate to the bench. The NFL would be better if the players got to fight and cheap shot each other?
  11. That's exactly the point. Why do you need to let off steam at all. Take it out on the puck. Skate harder. Why take out frustration on the other team illegally. If someone gets tagged out in a baseball game, is it ok for them to attack the catcher because he is wearing protective gear? I don't understand why when you use this circumstance in all other sports is sounds completely ridiculous but in hockey it is OK.
  12. All ages. The NHL stuff seems completely unnecessary as the newer players are programmed not to respond, because the retaliation draws the only penalty. The kids really irk me. My child plays peewee level now. Here you get your talented driven players that just play the game Then many of the ones not at that level seem to give up trying between whistles and just goon it up after, as seen on TV.
  13. All contact after the whistle should be a penalty. I can't stand watching the goon stuff that goes on after the play. It really bothers me when I see it at a youth level.
  14. There is ways to protect this. However this brings up another point for. If players are scared of getting hit in the grill, they will either find new ways to block shots instead of throwing themselves all over the ice. It would be necessary for the d to approach closer to the puck for the body block. This would open up more space down low for creativity and also keep the defensive wingers out into quick offensive positions. And once again you will have to be brave to go to the front of the net. look at the space and chaos Zhitnik would create.
  15. I will always be in favor for taller nets. The net does not to be larger in any other way. A taller net takes up no more ice space. Goalies are already pretty much maximum size, so this only needs to be a one time adjustment. A taller net would force goalies to play on their feet more often. Goalies now can just back up into the net on their knees and pretty much take up from ice to top bar. With the adjusted net now if a goalie goes down too early the top will be mostly open especially from farther distances.
