  1. He had one year remaining as a RFA with arbitration rights. My follow-up post mentioned it if Ottawa is making the decision to move him as either a core shake up or if the player wants out, the onus is on Ottawa to make the deal and weakens their position. I also mentioned Cozens as one of the roster players. He has a lower PPG .61 to Brady’s .77, but he plays Center and is signed to longer term with a lower AAV. Cozens, Kulich, 2024 1st- Top 5 protected and 2025 2nd would be one of the better offers given that’s three premium pieces.
  2. Maybe comparing the bathrooms in KBC to two Stadiums that opened prior to the United States entering World War II, probably isn’t the best analogy. Might be a better idea to look at some newer arenas to compare facilities built starting with the internet becoming a thing
  3. If they are moving Tkatchuk it’s either an organizational move or player demand. The onus would be Ottawa to make the deal either way
  4. Huberdeau was 29 and Weegar was 28 and both were one year away from UFA at the time of the trade. Power is 22 signed for additional 7 years, and has more points in His Second Year than Weegar did. Neither player is a good comparison at the present time. If a player of Tkatchuk’s Caliber is available, the Sabres have the assets to make the deal and should be first in line. A roster player (Tuch,Cozens, Mitts), prospect (Kulich, Savoie, Östlund) and the 2024 First( Top Five Protected) and a 2025 2nd would probably be the ask. Ottawa gave up 7th Overall and 12 th Overall in back to back drafts, lost a first round pick in 2024 or 25 or 26 as a punishment in the Dandanov Trade and their prospect pool is depleted. The Sabres Pick will be enticing in a deal.
  5. Only disrupting one line rather than two might be the best path as that line has been very good at driving play. For reference Benson-Krebs-JJP have an expected goals for percentage of 61% compared to Benson-Tage-Tuch who are 44.9% in roughly the same amount of minutes. Injured, he underwent imaging after practice
  6. Not having a legitimate replacement for Ullmark was a mistake . Not trading Ullmark at the TDL was a mistake Linus Ullmark said it himself in an interview with Christine Simpson from Sportsnet, that it was time to move on from Buffalo. He mentioned when His Father passed away he was alone in Buffalo( His Family had to stay in Sweden because of COVID) as a result it put Him in a dark place and he said for His Own Mental Wellbeing it was time to move on. And Granato’s Player Usage at times is proof the analytics department isn’t always listened to.
  7. Skinner left practice early today
