Putting Bjork (1.8 Million AAV) and Vinnie (1.7 Million AAV) in Rochester this season does prove they are not adverse to burying contracts in the AHL

Not for nothing, the Sabres postponed Adams and Granato's End of the Season Availability from Monday to Wednesday. I wonder if this has to do with possible changes to the coaching staff.

Agree with Dudacek here. Adams did not have any experience in a NHL Front Office and managed to assemble one of the most impressive FOs in the NHL. Adams knew what areas he needed help in and acquired that help over a two year period. Ventura has more experience in front offices and would follow GMKA’s Pathway to hiring the right people to assist Him. As analytics continues to grow in front offices, eventually persons with analytics backgrounds will become GMs. I do find it interesting that when Adams was thanking His Front Office Staff at the TDL Presser that he lead off with Ventura over Karmanos

Botterill made some questionable acquisitions and trades, hiring Krueger was the ultimate WTF Moment, but there is something very interesting about His Defense Corps from a few seasons ago

Chad DeDomincis has mentioned that the Sabres will be expanding their front office this off-season. He’s not sure exactly where it will will occur, scouting or analytics or possibly another AGM. My ideal offseason would be moving Adams to POHO and promoting Ventura to GM, with Adams continuing to have the final say in hockey related decisions.

Ventura is primarily responsible for the Jost and Stillman acquisitions and has revamped the Sabres Scouting Methods. It would be a huge loss for the Sabres

Sometimes, the goalies aren’t buying what Essensa’s selling. It was that way at first with Ullmark as he transitioned from Buffalo to Boston in 2021. Ullmark had been a push-stop goalie who powered to his spots and squared up to pucks. Essensa believed that by incorporating backflow, Ullmark could stay healthier and get to the rebounds he left behind. Ullmark did not initially agree. “We’ve butted heads — not just a couple times,” Ullmark said. “A fair amount of times in this two-year period. We’re still going to do it. That’s how I want it. I don’t want just a yaysayer or a naysayer. I want to have that back-and-forth conversation and feel like, ‘OK, if this doesn’t work, we should try this.’ Maybe if he sees something, I want him to be honest and say, ‘Hey, this doesn’t work. We have to do this.’ Just have that trust and honesty toward each other. No BS. Because if you start bulls—ing, you can’t really hold each other accountable. Are they honest with me or not? Essensa’s Way worked wonderfully for Linus. I do wonder if the Sabres should consider replacing Bales

Young goalie on a sub million dollar contract with team control is not making it through waivers. Especially when their are teams who play with much better defensive structure
