You might want to check Friedman’s Actual Twitter https://twitter.com/friedgehnic?s=21&t=h0yvSDHtOEJBIIBDkE7IaQ

Wheeler has the Sabres taking ASP. The 5-foot-11 Sandin Pellikka could be a great foil to the size of Owen Power, Mattias Samuelsson and Rasmus Dahlin(though there’s only so much power play time to go around) and Simashev would add more of a good thing with his length and skating, plus they’re among the teams that have shown no aversion to drafting Russians and getting them over here. A combine interview with Pellikka and more certainty around getting him over here won out, but it could go either way for me. An interview with Simashev and His Interview posted up thread, diminishes the concerns IMHO

This is why no team should ever worry about having a bad cap hit for a few years

NHL advises against and/or bans cause-themed warmup jerseys.
Brawndo replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
I believe there is a difference in the NHL/ NHLPA issuing press releases as they did last season and the Commissioner and President of PA having a press conference to demonstrate support for players no matter what they choose to do, as the latter carries more weight. Unfortunately that’s a side effect of being athlete/celebrity in the social media age, there will be a spotlight on them if they choose to participate in warmups in a different jersey or if the beat reporters tweet they are not on the ice. Not only Athletes but everyone has the right to stand up for what they believe in and no matter what your stance is someone will vehemently disagree with that position, look at what happened in the NFL and NBA with their players in the preceding years. Hell there were people upset on Twitter at Tage for wearing a Chik A Fila Hat during post game interviews. From all accounts a vast majority of players enjoyed wearing the specialty jerseys in warm ups whether they be HFC, St Pattys Day or Pride Nights. It’s one game per season and 99% choose to participate. The players know the makeup of the room better than anyone else does, maybe let the players themselves decide if they want to continue or not. -
He does have favorites on roster, Jeff Marek was the one who mentioned JJP as one, but with Kim’s Health and the Bills Stadium Agreement, coupled with the trust that they have in Kevyn Adams, they have been hands off with the team.

There is going to be a firestorm no matter what the NHL does. Friedman, Marek and Lebrun have spoken out against the proposed changed. Brian Duff was upset on Sabres Live on Friday. It’s going to rekindle when the Special Event Game Nights approach next season -
Peterka has become a Pegula Favorite (Zemgus is another one) Moving Him would require a holy ***** package that has K’Andre Miller or Evan Bouchard coming back.
