Personally I would keep Mitts and consider a Cozens move instead.

Levi needs to play games. He played 32 and 34 games respectively in two seasons at Northeastern. This season he should play somewhere between 55-60 as he gets used to playing a pro schedule, he is not getting that in Buffalo with UPL seizing the starters net. Levi’s Development needs to be treated as a separate entity completely independent of the Sabres Success or Failures this year. Placing Levi into a situation that he is not ready for will only compound the mistakes made at the goaltending position over the past few seasons

It’s possible, but Benson has been an effective 200 foot player in the NHL and there is a huge drop off in the experience players get in the NHL compared to the WHL. Contrast this to Levi, who has struggled most games in the NHL and has the option to go to the AHL, which has history has shown is the best place for young goalies

The biggest adjustment for players going from the NCAAs to the NHL is adjusting to the increased number of games, particularly with goalies. Proper development in the AHL would have put Him at 55-60 games Levi played 32 and 34 games respectively during His Two Seasons at Northeastern, getting only 35 games during His Rookie Season is a year of wasted development IMO.

I think it comes down between Him and Cozens personally. Adams mentioned they have not engaged in contract extension talks with Mitts though, Mitts has been more consistent over the past calendar year, higher career shooting percentage and has a better overall 200 foot game so Cozens is probably the one I move. Adams should make a trade, I know try to stop laughing, and include Cozens in a package for a Top 4 RHD in the 23-28 age range
