  3. Apparently Friedman refuted this report on 32 Thoughts Podcast Today
  4. Miles better
  5. It would not surprise me if Benson makes the team before Savoie in 2024-25
  6. Chevy got quite a haul for PLD, I imagine he is keeping a high price for Hellebuyck for now.
  7. Yzerman has had five drafts as Detroit’s GM. The First was 2019 and he had 11 picks his second they had 12, Only 3 of those 23 picks from 2019 and 2020 have played in the NHL. So stockpiling picks is great, but eventually they need to turn into actual players. They finished ahead of the Sabres once since he became GM and were still 11 points behind the Sabres with all their UFA signings last year. This timeframe even includes the Sabres trading their franchise player and multiple other assets. The UFAs they brought in are going to block younger players from getting NHL Games, I think the Sabres Plan of putting the younger players in position to succeed is the proper direction. Scott Wheeler of the Athletic did have the Detroit Prospect Pool at 4th and the Sabres ranked 6th, but that did include Power, Quinn and Peterka graduating from the prospect pool into the NHL. Looking at the two organizations, which core and prospect pool would you want moving forward? Yzerman may be a great GM in Detroit, but he really needs to start showing it soon.
  8. Jarry just signed an extension with Pittsburgh, he is not going anywhere. The Wild are desperate for cap space, Gustavasson reportedly wants an Oettinger type bridge deal which was 4 million AAV. They have 7.3 million left with 3 RFAs to sign. Would MAF waive fo come here for a year. Probably not as he doesn’t want to move his family, Samsonov and Murray in Toronto. Murray already said no once and is injured alot. Are they better than Comrie/UPL? Here is what Chad DeDomincis had to say about the Sabres search for a goalie Speaking of which, they’ve yet to address goaltenders at the NHL level. I have said throughout the offseason that my understanding is that they would like to improve at that position, but if it made sense for them. A source told me that they spent time yesterday exploring the goaltender market and will continue to do so over the next few days. The free agent market dried up on them quickly, so the obvious route to improvement is via trade. In my opinion, for Adams to succeed this offseason they need to do something in goal. It sounds as though they’re going to continue to work away at it, but won’t overpay for something. Currently on the NHL roster they have Devon Levi, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, and Eric Comrie. The thought was that Comrie may be sent down to the NHL, but that path appears to be blocked now with three goaltenders occupying that spot. It would say it’s close to a 0% chance that Adams has the desire to have his team rotate three goaltenders again next season. Therefore, once again, it would appear something has to give there. The trade market in the NHL hasn’t got underway yet. There are a handful of players that are going to be moved throughout the league. Now that the free agent period is over, I wonder if we start to see that open up in the next few days
  9. 90 Defenseman, damn KA really improved the depth! I’m kidding of course, I have 90:typos per post
  10. Buffalo doesn’t have a need for Nylander, but the other three I definitely could see taking a swing, especially Nashville Bertuzzi is the best of all three, one step forward, two back I guess
  11. Domi to Toronto one year 2.5 Million
  12. Who has the cap space?
  13. Friedman reports the Leafs and Bertuzzi are working on a one year deal
  14. The one team that Friedman mentioned yesterday was Ottawa and they only have one Russian as well
  15. I like this idea better and give him the choice if he wants to be moved at the deadline.
  16. I would look at the Sabres Goaltending Situation this season as they should have co starters. They should get Levi as many starts as possible, but have a capable co starter in case he struggles The third option should be a First or equivalent prospect imho
  17. Adams mentioned in his presser that they were in on a few forwards yesterday and got close with one and it just didn’t work out.
  18. Some other notable quotes from Adams regarding goaltenders. They did take a look at the available players and did say are those players better than the goaltender that we currently have and in many of situations they felt no. He specifically mentioned we could probably brought in a goaltender who has played multiple games and said we brought in a veteran with lots of experience, but they felt those goalies were not an improvement over what they had. Anderson, Raanta and Jarry all decided to stay with her current teams.Korpisalo would have been an improvement but the deal that he decided on the 5 years with a 4 million AAV. He was probably the best goaltender that moved, I just don’t think they’re too keen on paying a back up four million dollars when Levi is going to be ready for extension in two years. Plus would Korpi want to come to a situation, where he will be splitting, starts this year and relegated to a back up position relatively quickly. I would not wait until the trade deadline to try and get Hellebuyck How do you say showing him off locations that goaltenders acquired at the TDL have a different time adjusting to new systems. Vladar someone who they have shown interest in past is available. Also, in terms of John Gibson, who would not be my first choice, Chad has mentioned that he consistently starts well in the first half of the season and tails off by the end. Could this be a byproduct of him being overworked through course of the season and might his play improve in a 1A/1B situation. His contract is four years remaining with a cap hit of 6.4 million AAV, Anaheim would need to retain summer between 2.5 and 3.2 million for this to work. But again, are they gonna want to pay it back up goaltender somewhere between 3 to 4 Million per year.
