  1. When Ruff was named coach the team had a very young and developing core. Peca was 24. They had some key veterans in key positions, especially on D. That was the 1998 season. A semi-final playoff loss season. The team was coached to a position above expectations. 1999 was a cup final loss season with the same young and developing core. Again coached above what anyone expected. Fast forward almost 10 years and the new young core was built for the post lockout era and again was coached above expectations in 2005/06 to the semi final level. Injuries played a key role in that loss. The next season playoff expectations were too great and the players thought they could stroll to a cup. We all know that does not work unless you are an very stacked team. Bottom line is ... Ruff is a fantastic coach. If he is available and willing the Sabres have to give it serious thought. KA is very loyal though, especially to his coach who is also a good coach.
  2. My home ... Prospect, NS Halifax now has 500,000 people.
  3. Thanks for stopping by. Pretty much all the matches have been very entertaining. Through in some huge upset results and it's a good WC so far. Hate the location, but what can we do. FIFA is corrupt and always will be no matter who is in charge and who ends up in jail.
  4. Why does squish not pass the filter ?? SQUISH THE FISH !! GO BILLS !!
  5. Right. They all start at one and tonight will be #2 for them. Therefore, a streak ...
  6. Do you mean ... Inge Hammarström ?? And how advanced were they over all the other Europeans ?? Perhaps you mean they were the advance scouts ?? Taro, Taro, Taro ... you usually type your English very goodly ...
  7. MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!! I think the Jevils lost to The Great Satan the other night, so it seems that thy are starting a losing streak. And @Eleven ... GA is right ... it's the 25th not 24th.
  8. Good thing Bass is pretty much money on the FG. From the jaws of tie to victory. 8 - 3 is what it is. The Bills are and will continue to be fine. It's the NFL. These days no team is running away from all the rest. JA is a superstar. Diggs is pretty much there too.
  9. I that one of them *utility turkeys* with the extra legs ??
  10. Very sad and very young, but the brother of a friend died of ALS when he was 30. Terrible disease. Salming was in Toronto for the Hall of Fame induction game earlier this month. He did not look good at all, but not that death was this near. Maybe he took advantage of certain laws in Sweden. RIP!!
  11. 17 - 14 at the half is not great, but I think the Bills will crush it in half 2. 38 - 17 final is my final answer. Bills win.
  12. ***** = fantastic ?? LW 2 is where he lands. I think you are right about that.
  13. You really are stuck at home, eh. In between all the football you managed to watch all that. WOW !!
  14. Happy Thanksgiving. Remember what you are thankful for.
  15. I don't think that he has anything to gain playing in Rochester. He is a still developing NHL player, but surely an NHL player. Until someone better comes along Krebs should be playing in the NHL and gowing in the NHL.
  16. Great sweater, great effort, great win, great fans ... Now that is what I call entertainment. *That's Entertainment*
  17. It was pretty even in the second half. Canada did have the more dangerous attempts through the match. Missing the penalty early probably made a big difference. Canada played well enough to win against the #2 ranked in the world side. With Croatia and Morocco drawing earlier today a draw would have been a good result for Canada in this match. Croatia is next for Canada. A must draw and then hope for a big win against Morocco and a scorched earth for Belgium against both Craotia and Morocco.
  18. I know, but my point was that the English spelling is accepted in all of Canada.
  19. I am dying here ... Canada missed a penalty ... bloody hell !!
  20. It's allowed and the correct spelling in all of Canada except Quebec unless you are in the English majority area of Montreal.
