You managed to have the Sabres in the playoff in year 3 and the final in year 5. Not to shabby for an expansion team. The Islanders won 4 cups in a row starting in their 6th year in the league. Saint Louis was in the final their first 3 years. The dastardly Flyers won 2 cups in year 8 and 9. Florida was in the final in year 3. The rest not so great, but being an expansion team did not mean you were facing years of losing.

Very true that they won the cup in 1976. I think our @grinreaper was referring to the 1975 final when the Sabres skill beat the Flyer goonery, except for the outstanding play of Bernie. I do think that without Parent in the Flyer net the Sabres would have won that cup.

If they need to make 23 man roster space I think they send Anderson to IR for a mysterious LBI during the Flyer debacle. Once Joker is back I think they will send Casey to Rochester. I think they are afraid some D starved team will make a claim. That said, I might send Bryson down instead.

I think they will keep all the D until what's his name comes back. Won't want to risk a claim. Asplund will be waived, IMO. With UPL *loaned* to Rochester for the night I don't think they can send Anderson to IR due to that pesky *tweaked* somthing or other.
