Again, the Bills are top 3 AFC and top 5 NFL. All teams have issues, except maybe the Bengals right now, but they lost the big game last year. They have some injuries and don't seem to have much of a running game. Anyway, the Bills issus are not as serious as some here think. They are not in cap trouble really. It can be managed. JA did them a big favour as Mahomes did in KC and Burrow will do. They need to be smart and play every move right. Just like every other top team has to in order to stay there. They will be in contention for the duration of JA's tenure with the team.

Sabres fandom, geographical boundaries.

I never lived in the area, but my cousin married a Canadian from Welland and lived there for years. She was from Buffalo originally. She was a big Sabre fan so maybe she found other Sabre fans in the area. There were alot of them at least in the 70s to about 1982 ... it all seemed to go downhill after Bowman took the Sabres from a very nearly cup cusp in the 1980 playoff to a nothingberger in the early 80s to about 1990 something when they ran him outta town and brought in that Edmonton guy who tried his best to turn the Sabres into his Oiler image, but with all the old and washed up guys and not Mess or Gretz. Paging @woods-racer to the @Eleven bashing on Erie, PA thread. -
As a teen (13 to 16 - too young to drive ... things were different then ... I would not let my 13 year old loose in downtown Toronto now) we would take the TTC (bus and subway) from suburbia to Young Street at Bloor in The Great Satan. 'Sam the Record Man' had their main shop in the whole country just a few steps south towards dowtown and the lake. The new releases were available there at midnight on release day and first available anywhere in the country ... everywhere else hd them the next morning when record shops opened. It was a tradition for a bunch of us, but we soon found that our tastes in music changed in the next few years. We would still do the tradition, but it became more a hanging out thing on many occasions since we were not all there for the new release. Great times. I turned 15 in 1979. That was the year I discovered The Clash.

In my youth and early years of the Sabres my experience was the opposite from what I remember. I am close to 60 so seems like the Sabres shine in the area probably went back to the Leaves when the Sabres run with The French Connection ended in the early 80s. -

Jack's biggest problem was the bad injury to his neck and some others that have kept him from playing for a big chunk of time. He is probably very rarely 100%. When he is he id a dynamic player. He was also setback by RaKru, as was everybody else. -

Erie County, NY is definately all Sabres. Big time !! Erie, PA not so much ... It's been a long day, Taro. At the end of a long week. Leading into another long day tomorrow and another after that. Followed by yet another long week. -
Good man. Where do you find the time to dig all this up ?? The Sabres are good.

I would say Erie, PA and that thingie that sticks up there to the lake is firmly Sabre country. Extreme southern Ontario / Niagra pretty much do everything possible to distance themselves as far as possible in every way from The Great Satan. I would agree with Weave about Rochester being the line in NYS. Probably top to bottom. With pockets to Syracuse. Beyond that a few. There are pockets of resistance everywhere still to this day. Including, but not limited to Northern Ontario, Winterpeg, the far reaches of BC, at least 2 in New Scotland, 1 in Old Scotland, at least 1 in Western Europe, and some all over the vast USA ... -
Timo Meier rumour - Sabres contact Sharks
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Sabres73's topic in The Aud Club
He would be a good addition. A true *power forward*, which is lacking right now. I don't think any Sabre on the roster or coming soon will fill the role as well as Timo. I watched him in Halifax. He is big and has a good scoring touch too. I'm with Inky ... the price will be too high unless SJ really are done with him. Then the price may fall a bit. Not many teams could take on his QO at this point. I don't think he will command $10M on a long term deal, but tht has to be a consideration too. I don't think anything is imminent. This may be an offseason thing. If everything works out then I would like to have him in the Sabres, but at the end of the day I don't think it will happen. No. -
What has Tyson Jost meant/done for the team?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
The Wild obviously didn't have in the right situation either. The Sabres got him for nothing except a few bucks, which doesn't matter. I'd sign him today ... 2 years $5M -
It's fake, eh !! ***** Awesome way to get us started, my friend. I agree that Winnipeg is beautiful. I love to joke about it as most non-Winterpegers and non-Mosquitopegers do, but it is very nice. Not quite as stuck up as Ontarians stuck up in The Great Satan or Ottawa (The Slightly Lesser Satan) and not any where near as rednecked as places further west. Right smack dab in the middle of this vast Great White North. Not quite the laid back and easy goingness of either West or East coast, especially the Atlantic. And just a tad warmer than the spectacular North coast. Very nice, indeed. ***** MUST WIN !! GO SABRES !! He's a good looking dude. Rather scruffy right now, but he cleans up rather nicely. Since *The Slug* is signed I'll allow it.

More like 40+ years, but yup.

Maybe Timo can park his hardnosed ass in front of the net ??

Dave is no longer with us either. The Stranglers are still kicking, as far as I know, and it's okay, but it's not like it was.
-
You are talking about the power rock Canadian trio, right ?? If so, yes. And awesome.
-
Welcome !! Where did you see the $41M+ in cap sapce? That maybe current, but we are only half way through the season. The Sabres are around $20M in projected season end cap space based on all things being equal until the end of the season. I think that's right, but I am not a capologist.

Not sure how I missed this news ... RIP ... Jet Black. He was older than the others. He was 84 when he passed on December 6, 2022. I love how these guys made a mockery of TOTPs and the fact that no band ever actually played on that show.

I think he is the best pickup by the Sabres since DR turned that bum Gratton into Danny Briere. He has turned the season around for his wingers, especially Mitts. -
Kids In The Line Up This Year vs Next Year
Sabres Fan in NS replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
With none of the youngest kids quite ready I can see both KO and Girgs signing for another year. After that I think KO will retire as a player and likely have his home base in Minnesota. I think he and Anderson will likely be some sort of forward and goalie *whisperers* for the Sabres after retirement. I think Anderson becomes that next season. I also agree with @tom webster that for as long as Girgs wants to play here he will. He has been a very good soldier for 10 seasons. Just about all of them terrible.
