All I am saying is that both sides know what Dylan or any other player is worth based on market value and that both will come to reasonable agreement that is fair for both. Dylan will be paid a lot of money. The Sabres will gladly pay it. My feeling is that Dylan will agree to a pay scale that is at the lower end of the market range. 8 x $8 for blazes sake !!

My market value as a CPA is $150+ / hour. My standard rates now are $139 / hour. Many clients do not pay my standard rate and never mind my market rate. The point is when is enough enough ?? Cozens will not be stupid about this nor will his agent. He understands the big picture. He will not want to squeeze every last nickle out of the Sabres. He will be paid extremely well. He will be in line for a big payday again in 7 or 8 years when he will still not yet be 30 years old. Tage will not be hurting. Mule will not be hurting. They get it. Dylan will too, IMO.

@SabresBillsFan must have been a jolly joker when he suggested the Tuch contract. There is no possible way that happens and the Sabres would be foolish to start there. The starting point for the Sabres should be the Tage deal + a bit for an 8th year.

He is RFA so the team has more leverage. He is a good kid and won't sit out. I do not want to bridge. That lead to trouble with Samson. If he refuses the 8 x $8 (which I do not think he or his agent would do) if I am KA I hold my nose and offer a 3 year bridge at Dahlin $ ... 3 x $6. He is still a RFA at the end of that contract, but by then we'll likely be talking 8 x $10+ for him. I really think that Cozens is not a *me first* kind of guy and will be reasonable in this.

The whole organization from the owners down to Rutherford and the GM should be ashamed of themselves. They treated Bruce very badly in all this. 8 x $8. That's as high as I would go. The Tage deal would buy only 2 UFA years. I think. I would want him signed for that extra year.

Dahlin has this year and next. Cozens will get paid, but Tage money. Both of those and Mule's kick in next season. Power will need to be signed the year after Dahlin. The Sabres will have enough to sign KO for next season at 2 or 2.5 and maybe even the year after that. The Sabres may need to decide about Girgs, but I think he will be back for next season too. At about 2.5.
