This is problematic. I still think Josh is hurting. The play calling on O is terrible. The D is not standing any ground atoll. Something has to give, but I doubt it does before the season ends.

Didn't Holland build those great Red Wing teams? I suppose it's easier when you have an all world C and all world D and an old(er), but still all world G and a very good G before that. Edmonton really has nothing except 2 all world forwards. It's obviously not enough. I have no idea who the coach was, but as a casual observer he did not appear to be the biggest problem.

I am sure that you are right about no one thinking that we will ave any impact on anything. 500 is not good enough overall, but for now it's okay 15 games in. At last check (mid-night last night) the Sabres were 1 point out of WC. Changing coaches now will be counter productive. The most likely change is Paddy Kane in and Benson or maybe VO out. That would be a hoot too and it may not work. LOL at being decent. People get worked up into a lather and some become downright nasty about this stuff.

This thread is painful. Maybe some think that the coach should be fired for having the team at NHL 500 and just a nose under @deluca67 500. Bottom line is it will not happen during the season. Rant and rave all you want, but it will not help.

Good point about contract and body limits. If the Sabres decide to trade for McDavid in a non 'hockey trade' they are admitting that yet another rebuild has failed. It's most likely that the trade would be made by the next GM and not KA.

Yes. Neither of them answered the question either. I agree, that the starting point for a 'hockey trade' is Rasmus or Tage. They may settle for Power in such a trade, but the starting 'ask' is Dahlin or Tage.

Tage or Rasmus are the asking starting point from the Oilers. The price depends on the situation in Edmonton. Are they starting over and blowing it up? Or are they interested in a hockey trade to get a jump in a bit of a different direction, but still in a win now mode. Hockey trade will not involve 3 or 4 1st round picks. A blow it up move will have to include 3 or 4 1st round picks. Hockey trade ... Rasmus a lotto protected 1st and a second. Non-hockey trade ... Cozens, Joker, Savoie, 6K, 3 firsts (lotto protected) and 2 seconds. At the end of the day, I don't think the Sabres would do either right now. If Edmonton is interested in a hockey trade thay may be more inclined to trade Leon.

Those two are still important pieces of this Sabres team. I expect both to be re-signed for next season.
