That may be, but I think everyone (KA ...) will get the 2 Ruff seasons. I expect a spirited effort to start the season, but it will take until Christmas for everyone to become familiar with their new roles. Also 1/3 (roughly) of the game day roster has turned over - it will take time for everyone to get used to the new Ruff 'system'. I remember the debates years ago about the 'Ruff system' and it seemed that we could not come up with what was the 'Ruff system'.

Around the NHL: The 2024 Offseason
Sabres Fan in NS replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
I would trade a lot for Weegar, in a heartbeat. He is the type of anchor the Sabre D needs. And I would finally have my Moosehead on the roster. Red Wings, eh. I like it. -

What a tragic event that could have been prevented quite easily. A sad, sad day. -
Sabres signing Filip Zadina to a PTO?

So sorry for your loss. It’s never easy, but it’s better when they pass at home.

Yes.

Sabres signing Filip Zadina to a PTO?

Who? -
What in the blazes is going on in here? The Sabres have turned brother against brother.

The Sabres will amass 97 points in the 2024/25 NHL season. Good enough for 7th in the East. They will eliminate the 2 seed team from The Great Satan in round 1, as 1st round elimination is the long standing tradition of the team from that terrible place. We will have a parade to honour the latest cusp (hay, oh @PASabreFan) and add yet another lame banner. The Sabres will win the second round match against the dastardly Bruins, but will fall in the Conference Final to the eventual cup winner from Florida.

Getting ready: are players in town working out yet?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Dylan is skating with some noteable vets from around the league. Sorry, no names to protect the guilty. -
Option 1. I think the Sabres will be fine. This is 100% a Lindy Ruff team now. I think KA has done well. He has really upgraded the bottom 6 and it really did not cost anything. He made a hockey trade - a top 6 forward for a top 4 dman. He upgraded the goaler backup situation - Levi can play mostly in Rochester and there is not likely to be a disaster in Buffalo when 6K has to rest. The D is better. The 'core' isa nother year older and slowly turning into vets - I see that Dylan is skating with some highly regarded vets from around the league and not in Whitehorse - not that ther is anything wrong with Whitehorse. I still think that buying out Skinner was a mistake - they have not replaced his 30+ goals (at least not yet, but who is out there?).

Some analyst or other will have a few things to say about this. I never dream about the Sabres - at least not that I remember, which is probably a good thing.

Olympic Hockey 2026 - Which Sabres Make Olympic Teams?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Team Canada will gladly have Crosby and Marchand if they are willing to play. Stamkos maybe. Olympic rosters have been older experienced heavy historically. Same for the three Swedes you mentioned. Dhalin will likley be the youngest Swede on their roster. -
Girl Storm by Mrs. @SwampD. Just getting into it and it's fantastic. Just enough humour to make an impossibly difficult situation tollerable (not the best word to use here, but it's certainly not an enjoyable or fun situation they were in). @SwampD you and Peg are a true example of what loving parents should / need to be.

There is a good reason why the pre-season does not count for anything. The Bills will be fine. 13 wins and the division again. They will be hosting the AFC Championship game and will win it. They will win the SB. Josh will be MVP. Book it.

Is KA done tinkering with the roster this off-season?

What in the blazes ?? -
And still on ...

Billy Idol is playing here in a few days. I am tempted, but only if we can turn back time to 1976. Before he sold his soul for a pop hit or two. And it seems that he can't sing anymore.

(Off-season) What’s your favorite Sabrespace meme?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to #freejame's topic in The Aud Club
The 'Miller shut out'. -
Is this thing still on ?? Fantastic !!

It was actually less than that. 5/100ths of a second is basically unmeasurable except by a computer. All the 'photo finish' angles are inconclusive. Dude basically won by a chest hair (if he has any) standing erect as opposed to lying flat.

We were in the area for a day - rented a car and went to Pompeii. Got lost on the return and missed returning the car before place shut and missed our train to the next town - slept in not great place in rental car - returned car the next morning and got the next train to - I forget where, but I think Turin. Nothing too exciting, but we were not in our 20s anymore when these things didn't faze us atoll.

Venice is absolutely overrun - just ask the Venitians - they want all the tourists to leave and not to come back. Same with Dubrovnik in Croatia. Venice is amazing to see, but try to spend only 1 day there. Tuscany (Florence area) is great. Pisa is in the area too. Rome is fantastic and great in the fall - not too hot or crowded. Any further south is tricky for heat even in September. Pompei is very interesting, but kind of near Napoli which is a bit rough in places - we were lost there and barely made it out - long story. If you have some time the north is fantastic with the Alps.
