  1. That doesn't seem like much for a billionaire.
  2. I like that first line. Don't like that Sheary is absent. Maybe he has a note from his Mommy? Glad the handsome devil made it. Better late than never, eh.
  3. Come on, man. The Sabres have won 9 in a row. Many against good teams, or teams that have been playing well lately. Get out of the party pooper negative waves, man.
  4. Me with two friends at a cafe in Sarajevo in the late fall of 2010. I am in the far right.
  5. Bosnian coffee, especially there, is a ritual and an event. There are no lets grab a coffee quickies. It will be at least an hour, or two, if you are out at a cafe. If you are invited to someones home for coffee you will be there all day and very likely the night to. It is one of the most enjoyable take some time out moments that one can ever experience.
  6. Two of my favourite live songs ever. They played these together often on tour. I remember the Jazz, The Game and Hot Space tours. Amazing shows, in largest part due to Freddie.
  7. Above are the things that you will need. Two of my favourite coffees from Bosnia, probably pretty hard to get except online. A hand grinder, as an electric one will not do it for you. I use already ground beens. a traditional Bosnian coffee set. Last image is out favourite Turkish Coffee. We buy it by the case (12) online. Turkish coffee is pretty much the same, but slight differences in making it. If you plan to use Espresso, or some other type of coffee, the method to make it will work. The key is the grind ... extra, extra fine grind. If you grind your own beens at a shop they usually will have a Turkish setting on the grinder. Have fun ...
  8. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. So, a video must be worth a thousand pictures ... This video was filmed (not by me) in a small cafe in Sarajevo. I know the city and the cafe very well. Fond memories for sure. There is a knack to getting used to making it and it is easier on a gas stove than electric, but it can be done. This is a single coffee serving. I make mine in a pot that is 7 times bigger than the one in the video ... family size ... just for me.
  9. I am very surprised, nay shocked, that a man that knows all about life in a trailer park in suburban Nova Scotia knows nothing about the Grey Cup. And, in case you are wondering, and Eleven too ... Calgary won it. So, the f curse Ottawa worked.
  10. Quoting myself to try to add pics. I am not a good photog ...
  11. Cool story. No worries. I am on mobile right now, but I will send you info on how to make Turkish / Bosnian coffee. I tell you, if you try it you will never go back.
  12. You had me going until the lat part. It's more realistic than pi's expectation that the Sabres will not lose again until Dahlin retires.
  13. This is my favourite time of day ... it is just about 7:00 AM here in Halifax. I just prayed the dawn prayers and some extra. The crows are flying by on their return to their daylight stomping grounds from their nighttime roosting grounds. They are fasinating birds. Several thousand go to a University grounds near us to roost at night. during the winter months They then return each day to their daytime homes. I am about to enjoy my Lavaza Espresso coffee made in the Bosnian tradition. I can use any coffee to make it, but Turkish and / or Bosnian have the perfect grind and flavour. I do like this Espresso a lot, though.
  14. Tonight marks the return of E. Kane to Buffalo and he is bringing that other Swedish Dman with him. No matter we have our own studly Dman from Sweden. For the first time in forever I am looking forward to every single Sabre game. Lets beat E. Kane and the rest of those Guppies from Northern California. Rules (?) Lineups (?) TV (?) Radio (check) MUST WIN!! ... WE WANT 10!! GO SABRES!!
  15. It really sounds like you know your stuff when I read it. Not sure how that will make you feel.
  16. So, are you saying that the Sabres should not take a run at him?
  17. As I have aged I have pretty much gotten over the 'I Don't Like Mondays' of my youth, except today. A wise and handsome man once said ... 'Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars' ... Well, Black Friday was never my scene and I don't like Cyber Monday. Anyway, Amazon.ca just got me with a deal that I could not refuse. Fortunately, it was for ink for my main office printer / copier / scanner, which I needed anyway.
  18. That was worse that the Sabres manouver in San Jose.
  19. OUTSTANDING!! WE ARE NOT WORTHY!!
  20. I liked it even before watching. Now I will watch it. Thanks for posting it and feel free to post more often.
  21. Hello, this is angry (?) NS speaking. My wife had her annual appointment with her Pain Management Specialist early this AM. So early that I had to forgo my usual Turkish (made in the Bosnian tradition) this morning. I have an emergency (and I mean emergency) stash in my office of ... of ... bloody hell ... I can hardly bring myself to say it ... instant I am one angry puppy right now and it's only going to get worse. /rant ...
  22. If you are over 'there' for years you should find our dysfunctional family very calm. And don't worry about adding a bit. I have over 12,500 posts and I know very little about hockey, but I know how to BS and where to post the stuff I know about in other threads. In case you don't know there are several fun (?) Clubs here now that one can sign up for. These are for broad discussion of the main Sabres / hockey board. There are several off topic discssion still on the main board that are very interesting. The biggest clubs are futbal (soccer) and politics. Love futbal, but politics is not my cup of tea.
  23. Welcome to our little corner of the Internet. A very good first post. I will give you your first 'like'. It certainly is a good time for your first post. Don't be shy. We won't bite. Unless, of course, you ask very nicely and buy us dinner first ... ??
  24. That should last me about a week, maybe 10 days.
  25. I have a 20th anniversary (1990) sweatshirt that I really love. It is starting to get stained and worn out a bit, though. The sweater that I got as a kid (5 years old, maybe) is completely worn out and long gone.
