  1. What is also very nice is that, although they didn't look great doing so, they banked 20 out of a possible 20 points on the streak. No one can take those away come crunch time in March.
  2. Skinner has always been a good goal scorer, but, as has been mentioned here and in the media, he has never played with a centre as good as Eich. Based on history, I believe Skinner to be in the $7M area. Do the Sabres want to give a bit of a premium in that they believe his goal scoring pace this season, so far, has as much, or more, to do with him playing with Jack as it does that it's a contract year? That does not seem to be JBOT's style. On the other hand, will Skinner be willing to leave a bit of $ on the table since he likes it here and is in a very good spot playing with Jack? I think the Sabres do plan on signing Skinner to an extension. I believe they were maybe 50/50 at the time of the trade and wanted to see how it worked. Well, it has worked out very well. So, I think the Sabres will sign Skinner for 7 years and $7.5M / year, as front loaded as currently allowed by the CBA. In the back of JBOT's mind will be the inevitable lockout and salary rollback.
  3. Congratulations Rasmus. May this be the first of many awards in your career. Hopefully to include a Norris, or two, or better yet a Conn Smythe, or two.
  4. I don't think the play of either, especially the 1 game for Pilut, make either expendable next year. I think that every GM is thinking long and hard about the Seattle draft situation already. I think that it is possible that both Sheary and Scandella could be exposed (if possible ?), or traded, to Seattle to protect someone else.
  5. You should. We have a *friend* that we met in Sarajevo that is from Morocco, but has lived in France most of his adult life. He has always invited us to visit him and his family in Morocco Our friend says that Morocco is great, but can be rough and rip-off artists abound. One should go with someone from there if possible, especially if you want to see the *real* Morocco and not just the tourist traps of Casablanca and Marakkesh. Of course, no one would want to miss seeing Rabah Kasbah, which is said to be the inspirtion for the awesome 'Rock The Casbah', which was written as a protest against the banning of all music in several, so called, Islamic (banning of music has no real foundation in Islam) counties, primarily Iran.
  6. I only joined the Club to post this. No offense, but I will unjoin / leave after this post. +++++ It is Saturday and the board is not very active and it happened late last night, but I am a bit surprised that this news is not getting more play. Anyway, I am quite liberal in my politics, so it will be no surprise that I was not a fan of President Bush. 94 is a very good age and he did seem to really love his family very much, so I will give him that. Like all Presidents, I feel that he has blood on his hands and I will pray to God to have mercy, as I do for everyone that passes away.
  7. I agree. They played an emotionally charged and taxing game the night before in Tampa. On the other had, did they look tired, or a bit *lazy* in that they may have thought something like ... *these guys are not the Lightning, we get their terrible backup, we got this*. I am not saying that's what they thought, but maybe. I hope not and I don't think so. +++++ Also, it seems that only NB read my opening line carefully enough to notice some playfulness. Oh, well.
  8. Morocco is fascinating. Always wanted to go there.
  9. Good take. I agree and I think that every fan will say this ... the Sabres are good, but still need to address some issues. The issues now are minor in comparison to the massive issues over the last several years. Still they playing well enough to be, at last check, which was early this morning, in second place in the league. I don't think anyone can honestly say they expected that and saw it coming.
  10. Has anyone seen Eleven today? Either here. or for real? I know today was / is hard for him.
  11. Well, as of right now ... second place is not too shabby. Hey, why all the sad faces?
  12. Fantastic!! I can see why you like Carter. He looks like Carter.
  13. I don't think he is very hard on the eyes. How's that for an eye test?
  14. Yikes. If this trend continues you guys are going to fire my ass. That's if chz doesn't do it first. I feel shame. I'll show myself out ...
  15. Hold the fort guys and gals, NS out, but I may check in from time to time ...
  16. ? It's been 8 weeks now. I completely forgot about it until I just realized it's Friday.
  17. I hear you. Thanks. You know what though, this GDT title is not me. The Dastardly Flyer (although liger beat me to it, but he adjusted his title), The Snarks and the Lightning GDTs ... those titles are me.
  18. Guys and gals, I just took a look at the schedule and I reserve the right to go back to my more flamboyant GDT titles for that afternoon. Kay?
  19. This is the right way to look at the loss last night, IMO. The winning goal was scored with less than 6 minutes left in the third, IIRC. The Sabres had the lead earlier in the third, but gave up the tie-er-up-er on a Stamkos PP slapper (?). Not to shabby at all really. On the road. Against the best and most balanced team in the Conference, if not the League. The Sabres went into Tampa and said ... bring it on. The Lightning did and the Sabres very nearly came out of it with a win, or at least, a tie.
  20. I think your sarcasm metre needs a tune-up. (insert winkie-winkie thingie here)
  21. Really. I mean, what has he done for us lately?
  22. Which him. I posted about Pysyk and Weegar? Hopefully that awfulness trend continues tonight.
  23. Tells Phil to keep playing him?
  24. No. The Sabre brass banned such 'anti-celebrations', along with the equally 'anti-celebratory' 'Vanek face'.
