Sorry for your troubles, Josie. All that stuff that life throws at us. Depression is the terrible debilitator. I don't feel up to much, but never thought of it as depression, but it must be. ***** And, Freddie always started the call outs small and short to get the crowd into it. Then he would go longer and higher ... hey, oh ...

It's NOT you. No way. No how. And, you are supposed to call back to me when I call out. Just like Freddie.

Ay, oh!! ...

Are Your Expectations for this Season Changing?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I think we should have a rule, no offense WildGuy, no posting nonsense from Harrington, or anyone else in the media. The key is media. That way all of us can continue posting our nonsense. -
I know that it is, generally, considered to be 'old fashioned' to do this, but I am old and, rather, fashionable.

I think that Mr. Smell would be all over this, as well. He is (or at least was) smitten.

Babcock's dystopic vision of KeyBank Center for Leafs games
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
Corporate types selling to other corporate types. It has been that way since about the mid-1970s when Ballard decided that he was in business and not the hockey business. -
Not to get Marner and that is all that matters to the Yurmiester.

The auto correct of Pominville is the bestest thing ever. -
Isn't the little guy all set, like in the old Soviet Union and some other places with supreme leaders, as Commissioner For Life?

Speaking of our friend Yuri (Randall mentioned running into him in the randomer thread). The guy trolled the heck out of me, no doubt in an alcohol induced frontal assault, at 3:30 AM. I found it in my mobile email account inbox at 10:00 AM. He said that he is actively cheering for Dahlin to do very well and to get the Sabres into the playoffs. That way his beloved Marner (he was right about him) and the rest of the Leaves can defeat the Sabres 4 more time in the playoff when they meet. This will add to a grand sum of 8 defeats by the Leaves over the Sabres this season. I like Yuri and he and I have exchanged some pleasantries over the time, but this time he has gone too far.

No kidding. Well, at some point you should think about and decide if this is the place you want to work. I have turned down / withdrawn my candidacy for jobs that I wanted, even needed, just because of all the stress and BS. If it is like this before hand when everyone is on their best behviour what would it be like afterwards. On the other hand, dark coming in with the other hand.

That's quite a story Randall. Yuri has told me that the tank forced him out. He has always likes Marner and he has moved on to the Leafs. He has other interesting ties to Toronto now, but I won't share those.

There is nothing wrong with how you handled the situation. Following up is recommended after a reasonable time has passed (that is just how you feel about it), especially if it was open-ended. It would have been good, but not easy, to try to pin down the timing for the next steps at the end of their interview. Asking that final person to poke around may be a bit further than I would have gone, but it's probably not going to blow up on you. It's a very fine line between being seen as keen and being too pushy. I hope this is not the case for you, Inky, but from my experience this often means that some executive's kid needs a job and they want to give it to them. Often this is all but arranged and the company goes through the interview process to make it look good and, maybe, meet some legal requirements. That said, as others have pointed out, this time of year everything is basically shut down. I'll be thinking of you and hope for the best.

Babcock's dystopic vision of KeyBank Center for Leafs games
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
This is not surprising, as the 'fans' can't get into a game in Toronto. All the straight-lased suit wearing (hold up, I often wear a suit, so I can say it) corporate types are just there to make deals and entertain each other. I agree Montreal (never been to the new arena, but The Forum was great) fans are fantastic. -

That is not possible. Plain old Leaf fans can't even take over their arena. What in the hell? This I agree with. It's a challenge to the home team fans to up their game. Soccer stadiums always have designated areas for visiting fans. It is one of the most awesome things in European football and I think that MLS is trying to do the same thing.
