When Samson scores one like it, or even more clutch, or clinching, or ... all will be forgiven and forgotten. Samson will be the better overall player, IMO. Very different styles, but better, if he isn't at this point already.

I have mentioned that I lost my biggest client some months ago and that I had structured my practice to be able to spend as much time as possible with my best friend. Well my friend passed away recently and several other smaller clients have retired, or closed. Anyway, at my age ... mid 50s ... I do not feel up to building up my practice completely again. So, I have been putting the word out and looking at part-time work outside my practice. I do plan to keep it and add to the client base through referrals. I just came back from a very good discussion with the folks at the back finance departments at ... RBC. Yikes. Pray with me that Allah has mercy. I believe that He is and will understand that sometimes one has to do what one has to do.

JBOT does not operate that way, at least up to now. A slow and steady rebuild. A trade for Kane smacks of either desparation, or a team that is on the brink and needs that one piece to shove them over the top. The Sabres are neither right now.

Yes. Toews is who I mean. I'm not so sure that he would not waive to come to the Sabres. He may be willing to be moved to a team on the rise that he sees the chance at another cup with. On the other hand, I do believe that he is a good soldier and very loyal to the the Hawks, where Kane may not be as loyal. I do agree that any trade would be in the offseason.

I am sure they meant that he is playing very well now and will only get better. This kid will win multiple Norris Trophys unless something really goes wrong.

I can't believe I am making a serious post in this thread, but ... IMO, the Hawks would sooner trade Taves than Kane. Not sure what it would take to get him, but it would be less than Kane, IMO. The Sabres could use Taves a lot more than Kane. I still think Taves is a very good second line centre at this point and a veteran leader.

They needed to win this game to save the season, IMO. They fell behind and did a gut check in the second intermission and found a way to win. No Sabre team in the last 5+ years would have done that, IMO. Taro, you did it man. If available, see if you can start the GDT tomorrow. If not, someone else go for it. I will not. I like Inky and I like wins. GO SABRES!!

The trade happened, for good, or for bad, it really makes no difference. The Sabres play a game tonight that is at a critical junction of their season. Focus. Before you guys start yelling that I am suggesting limiting discussion, I am not. I just want to limit bad discussion.
