With the holidays I have no idea what day it is. I obviously miseed the Complaint Window yesterday. Anyway, we are having some snow ... it's beautiful. The damn city still has not cleaned our street properly from the NYD storm and it is a sheet of thick ice. If it were smother I would skate around. It is trecherous and we have anumber of elderly and disabled people on our street. Yup. Happy Friday ..........

Very good summary. The whole thing, IMO, can be summed up in a few words (not that your words are bad, or too many ...) ... the Sabres now have an NHL roster, after years of not. Some of the players are very good to great and some are good, but some are not good enough, but all belong in the NHL. Now, that is not to say that some could use some further development in the AHL, but the question is who would come up to play in the NHL? It also shows that with the vast improvements in the Sabres this season this is the NHL and there is the finest of lines between winning and losing.

Neither of these have been confirmed, eh? Or did I miss something with all the holiday cheer around here?

I don't follow the Bills closely enought to be sure, but something tells me that this was not what the masses were hoping for. At least not on it's own.

Thorny is being a bit thorny today and in a GDT, no less. I understand the frustration is setting in, but JBOT took over a team 2 years ago and needed to pretty much take it apart and start over, except for some key pieces that he inherited. It is not a fast process. On top of that some of the inherited pieces are not working out so well. Some of the changes were to remove very good players (Kane and ROR) that play key roles on any team, because they were not working out here. ROR in particular is very missed, especially now with Eich out for a while (hope it isn't long). I still believe that JBOT was not thinking this was a playoff team this season when it started. Close, but probably not quite there. I think playoffs was the goal foe next season, after one more offseason of trades and signings and drafted kids development, some of that being in the NHL for the first time other than a few games here and there.

I like Jeff. A lot.

I really like trying Mitts on the #1 line with Skinny and Samson. Grr8 has made compelling posts on this subject. I think the Sabres should try just about anything at this point.

Everybody loved him during the streak. Now, not so much. It's the way it works. I think he is a good coach. He was when he had a full NHL level roster, even if many were not playing that well. Now he does not have a full NHL roster and it's a problem, as it would be with any coach.

It depends what Windows version you are running and if your cache has been cleaned out lately. I still have the trophy on my remote office laptop running 7, with an uncleaned up cache.
