Thank you, sir. I voted already ... early and often. What a motto.

SabreSpace Goal of the Year Semis: Risto (Sharks) vs. Jack
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
Risto. Sorry, Jack. Your effort and goal was spectacular, but you are supposed to do things like that. Risto made a Norris Trophy winner look like a 7th round fill-the-roster guy on his goal. The celebration, although much maligned, was spectacularily awesome, IMO, and earned him a spot in the Tra White Goalie Academy of Louisiana at Buffalo, although he lied on his application, apparently. -
Since the Friday thread is closed ... Another week ... 13 now. Also, nfreeman ... you and your handsome son must realize that that phone number situation is a trap, eh? I'm kidding sort of, because one does hear stories, but things happen on vacations that are out of the ordinary at home.

SabreSpace Goal of the Year "regular season"
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
it is pinned now. -
Detroit was fantastic and probably the last example of a 'dynasty', but even they were not like the Canadiens of the late 70s, or the Islanders of the early 80s. Even the great Oiler teams of the mid to late 80s had off years where they did not win the cup. I would love the Sabres to end up like them, but it is less likely in today's NHL.

Are you from the Great White North, eh? In think Thorny is, but he hides in the bushes well.
-
Sorry, GA, but Bogo certainly is living up to his contrat this season.
-
The way the NHL is now with parity by design then it is unlikely that a team will be able to win that many cups in a relatively short span. Look at Basstan ... pretty much same core over the last 10, or so, years and 1 cup. Chicago ... 3. Pittsgurgh ... 3, including 2 in a row. LA ... 2 in 10. Washington finally has 1.

SabreSpace Goal of the Year "regular season"

It looks like many votes have been cast. You should demand a hand count and make sure all the hanging chads are accounted for, eh? -
They have enjoyed remarkable success in the past decade, but are on the downswing and will need to make decisions soon as to what to do with aging vets. A rebuild is coming and soon.

Playing themselves out of a playoff spot.
Sabres Fan in NS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I suppose that more than 8 teams today could be better than 50/50 odds as there is very little separation between current 2 through 9. At this point TB is a given all but offically. Also, the season is only half over, roughly. As the season winds down this will change. -

That should not be surprising at this point of the season. If you are in at the halfway point then the odds should be better than 50/50 that you make it at the end of the season. It does seem strange that they have every team listed with better odds than the Sabres and Habs, which would be 9 teams at 50/50, or better. Something does not add up. -

Sorry. That happened in 2019, but thanks for playing. Also, of note, in a completely understandable move PA has decided that the first part of 2018 (from last season) does not count either ... it's as if it did not hapen. -
Columbia is very nice. I don't think it has the same reputation as it did some time ago. I think that other places have surpassed it in certain, shall I say, industries. Say hello to James for me.

Where? It's a big place? Very fine.
