  1. Kelowna ... in the beautiful interior of BC, Canada. You should see more of this great county, although Bobcaygeon is one of my favs.

  3. The Sabres play tonight ... so forget all your duties, oh yeah ... ? Seems like we will not be able to watch our Swedish hottie(s) take on their Swedish hottie. Just give me another win and I do not care how, or what it looks like. I can fly to Europe much faster than I can get to see duda, buno, or Rick ... this geography lesson brought to you by NS. The most MUST WIN!! since the last MUST WIN!! So, MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!!
  4. Why are you surprised? Is it based on the fact that the thing you sighted about Asians being bad drivers is not a stereotype? If you have not done so, I suggest you read LTS's post on the matter (slightly above). Don't worry, it's not full of *fancy stat mumbo-jumbo* ... I would not lead you to that place ... (insert winkie-winkie thing here).
  5. I don't think that PA wanted this to happen. I would like a dedicated thread on the main forum where analytics can be discussed. Since it is a hockey and Sabres directly realted subject I do not think it needs to in a Club off the main forum. I would vote for that option if it were presented in the poll. I don't read posts that are analytic in nature. This is because I don't really understand, or like. them. I like to trust my old eyes. It would not be difficult, I don't think, to keep the analytics comments out of a GDT, as they come about after the game ends, no?
  6. I am nothing if not polite. So, I will politely disagree with you and leave it at that.
  7. This was a very good and entertaining game. The Sabres played a vastly superior team (on paper and in the standings) in their building and came out with the victory. That is awesome and really all that matters. If some choose to look at it in more detail then so be it. Onward ...
  8. I never said it was OK.
  9. It already has been and not by me. @shrader I agree that discussion is good, but anytime this kind of thing comes to light there is not really much discussion, IMO. People are in their 'camps' and points are repeated. What I was thinking of adding, but didn't would have just been more gas on the fire and would have not been a benefit to any possible discussion.
  10. Stereotyping is always based on something. It is never just made up.
  11. Wrong!!
  12. What? If one is born in North America, or Europe, and you are a white male you are born into a position of privilege. The position of power awaits, but maybe / hopefully not for long. I am saying this as a white male born in Canada. I am tempted to add something, but won't. This thread is turning into a big enough disaster already.
  13. Fair point. If I were to get into it I could come up with an arguement that one walking into a random bar and behaving as you suggested is actually doing so from a position of power, or privilage, over the other. It would not be hard to do.
  14. Of course not. This thread is not about that and neither was my comment.
  15. I would hope so, yes.
  16. Harassment / exploitation of any kind, most often it is sexual, can only happen when there is a person in a position of power and / or influence over another. It does not have to be in a business setting, nor does it have to be white males, although often it is. Bottom line in this case is ... something happened and a white male was compelled to resign over it.
  17. I know some Arabic and that's not it.
  18. This is terrible behavior. They should feel shame. I hope they do, but they probably just lament the fact that they were watched and actually, by the sounds of it, finally ratted out.
  19. I have mentioned a few times my wife's health challenges. She has a very difficult life and we are coming to the conclusion, based on our own research and experiences, that this is what she has ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mast_cell_activation_syndrome It is extremely hard to get a diagnosis as most health care professionals know very little about it. There are no specialists in Canada, as far as I know, for sure none in Halifax. My wife's pain specialist has heard of it, but knows nothing of it and is retiring soon. Below is a 60 Minutes Australia (which is very good) segment on a young woman with a very severe case. My wife is not this bad, but at times is very close to this ... The couple in the video above are amazing. He is a very good man and really lives his wedding vows every single day. Have any of our health care professionals here ever heard of this condition?
  20. A third, or second, round pick maybe. Maybe a low level prospect. Not much.
  21. Oh, yeah!! Great win!! I am off the snide, yea me!! VICTORY!! Oh, and good game by the Sabres, eh?
  22. Scary stuff. Glad he is OK. He is a good guy by all accounts.
