  1. Thanks. During Ramadan I also fast from non-essential Internet use, which means no SabreSpace during the Holy month. I have taken this break every year since I signed up. If I recall correctly when I signed up in 2011 Ramadan had just ended.
  2. Awesome thread. I am as optimistic as ever. GO SABRES!!
  3. Great start for the hosts. A 4 - nil drubbing of Korea. Even with the controversy of a VAR (did I mention that I am not a fan of VAR atol) disallowed goal. GO CANADA!!
  4. I am a huge fan of timely leaks. At my age that is just about anytime. NS out ...
  5. THAT MOOSEHEAD KID!! ?
  6. Thanks man. Still, I just prayed the mid-day prayers and a simple personal supplication.
  7. Completely unrelated, but I am slowly catching up on stuff ... you must be pretty happy with the way the post season has played out for the Raptors. +++++ Completely related ... your post makes sense, but the Sabres are in desperate need of forward talent. I think that most teams, especially the Sabres, would be able to fit someone like Rad into their lineup. Who knows if he will help fix the 'culture', whatever that is exactly I do not know, on the Sabres is another matter, but he probably would not hurt it.
  8. Damn those dastardly Bruins. Every last one of them since the dawning of time. 4 days post Ramadan and my good behavior is out the window. I will pray for my soul.
  9. I finally figured out who this guy is ...
  10. I was wondering if anyone would kick off (ha) a thread for this awesome tournament. Women's football is often more exciting and physical than the men's. Yup. I will be fully committed to CS12 and Canada. MUST WIN!! GO CS12!! GO CANADA!! MAKE US PROUD!! AT LEAST BEAT THOSE DASTARDLY YANKS!!
  11. Um ... We are just finishing up Eid 3. Which means that Ramadan ended 3 days ago. Unless, of course, you mean that I am just so out of it that I must still be fasting. In that case ... carry on, eh.
  12. Thanks and yes. Short ... LOL. And I was fasting, not sleeping. Not sleeping much at all during Ramadan, but it's all good. Near the end I slept in until 1:00 PM, so I owe a day fast.
  13. What coach? Skinny has not signed yet? And what's that Moosehead kid that I have been all over?
  14. Eid Mubarak!! Ramadan ended at sunset today. I miss it already, as I do every year when it ends. Our Ramadan was very eventful. We closed on our new house on Ramadan 3 and we have been taking our time setting it up ... one Legend ? load at a time, so far. We are going over tomorrow morning. In the next week, or two, a buddy, or two, and I will be taking a truck load of stuff and then we will be hiring some movers to move the bigger and heavier things. Then my wife will set the new house up more while I and some buddies fix the house we are still in to list. A few days ago at iftar (breaking the fast time) our oven went boom. That was fun. So, what did I miss? Anything exciting? Readers Digest version please. We are both really swamped, so I am not sure how much I will be around. Salam / Peace.
  15. NS out. See you in 29, or 30.
  16. There is a pretty good chance that a top 4 spot is there for the taking and a ticket into CL, but nope. They will draw a side that is just barely north of the relegation line. The Gunners are as big a joke as Man U this season.
  17. WHA Hockey ... Awesome!! And, if you are still enjoying the nice weather out there and you want to make sure the tax man / woman don't ring your bell, if that is still a looming possibility ... PM me and I'll be happy to help you out. (winkie - winkie thingie)
  18. Ramadan. It will start at sunset today. As is my tradition I will be fasting from non-essential Internet use for the holy month, which includes fasting from SabreSpace. I will see you guys and gals in 29, or 30, days depending on the new moon sighting that will mark the start of the next month. As always, there has been some Saudi stuff. In North America we are on 30 Shaban (the month before Ramadan) so, there is no debate as no month could be more than 30 days. It seems that the Saudis are on Shaban 29, which means that Ramadan could have started there either tomorrow, or Monday at sunset. Anyway, the Saudis have officially declared that Ramadan will start at sunset today, which makes the first fasting day start at dawn tomorrow ... 4:23 AM here in Halifax. The breaking the fast time tomorrow is at sunset ... 8:25 PM. So, the fast will be long and longer as Ramadan progresses until Eid, which is likely to be June 5th. At least we do not fast on the longest daylight hour days this Ramadan, not that it makes a difference. Ramadan is viewed as the most anticipated month of the year and fasting is an honour. I will be around for a bit today, but not sure how much longer. Salam / Peace.
  19. The Wanderers won their first match played in Halifax yesterday. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/fans-welcome-nova-scotia-s-2nd-kick-at-pro-soccer-1.5123376 We do have many football fans here and they know how to have fun.
  20. With a name like that @DarthEbriatewill be all over this news.
  21. We went to our banks yesterday and moved some of our money around. Had a $115,000 draft in my pocket for the longest ever 2 minute walk to our main bank. Then walked the even longer / longest 5 minute walk from that bank to our lawyer's office with 1 draft for $185,000 and another for $25,000 in my pocket. Signed all the docs at our lawyer's office. We are good for our walk through on Wednesday morning. If all is good we call the lawyer to close the deal and send the money. In NS every property is being 'migrated' to a new central registry system, which can be done at anytime, but must be and is usually done when a property sells. It takes about 3 weeks for the process to run it's course and we had about 4 weeks between offer acceptance and closing. We could not close on this deal without it being done. As of yesterday our lawyer said that it was not finalized. We just got word from our agent that he was told that the sellers lawyer (who did the migration) has been notified by the province that it will be completed Monday.
  22. I don't hate them at all. I actually feel they are a great story this playoff and hope they win the cup. Now, don't get me started on those dastardly Flyers and equally dastardly Bruins.
  23. This is a fun thread for the offseason. Let's see ... NHL ... Aud, Forum, Maple Leaf Gardens (yikes), Igloo NFL ... Rich, Three Rivers CFL ... The Ex, Lansdowne Park MLB ... The Ex, Skydome EPL ... Emirates, Stamford Bridge
