  1. Your Honour, if it pleases the court; the defense presents exhibit A ... the 2018/19 St. Louis Blues. Your honour, the defense rests.
  2. Many seem to grade the GM based on this one seemingly bad (time will tell, but right now it looks bad) trade. A trade that I have no doubt that the GM did not want to make, but felt he had no choice. Maybe he was not given a choice by the owners, my guess is that is not the case. I really think that ROR's openness at the end of the season lead to his departure. Let's take a quick look at the other trades of note: Skinner ... and then re-signing him to a market value contract. Check. Montour ... solid D, probably top pairing, or #3 on a good Sabre team. Check. I think those two offset the ROR trade. What is paramount this offseason is that Bottsie find a real 2C, either by trade, or FA. I have no idea who / how. The Sabres are not that far off.
  3. Thanks, but I'm not really a fan of the team, or the NBA, but am just glad that an underdog from a small(?) market city won it. I am happy if that happens in any sport, really, especially when an unexpected (not sure if the Raptors winning was all that unexpected) team beats out the defending champs. @Hoss, now he is a real fan and must be very happy.
  4. I must have missed that in the highlight reel.
  5. I thought that might be the case. Anyway, no biggie. The Blues were really something back then. An expansion team getting to the finals their first 3 seasons. Talk about the powers that be not wanting them to win it back then, especially against 2 original 6 teams with long histories, well all the original 6 teams had long histories, but that's besides the point. And what did that get the Blues? A 50 year wondering in the desert, until no one remembers the 3 previous trips to the finals. I have opened up my kiosk. Tin foil hats anyone? Anyone for a tin foil hat? Never would have guessed that thing was hollow.
  6. The entire final series was great and very entertaining. @shrader will want me banned for saying that. The NBA playoffs are usually very good, or at least mostly good. My feelings on Toronto are well known, but I am happy that the Raptors won it all. Why do you think the ending was awful? Yes. As far as I know anyway. Does not the NFL do that too?
  7. Love you SwampD, but you are incorrect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968–69_NHL_season#Stanley_Cup_Finals
  8. IMO, Orr was the best ever, but he is one of those dastardly Bruins (mostly), so I must hate him too.
  9. I think there are others as well, but that was a very memorable run for Montreal and Roy. No one expected Montreal to win it, especially against a Calgary team that beat the mighty Oilers to get to the final.
  10. This is the correct answer. Therefore, not at all odd for the kid commish to say what he did. The Blues lost in 1970, but game 4 was in Boston and ended on one of the most memorable goals in the history of hockey.
  11. @Drunkard, I think that you should delete your post a few up the page. That way I won't have to report it.
  12. Roy in 1986.
  13. Joe's daddy was a much older bankrobber ... ? Just make sure you never hurt nobody ... ?
  14. Not creepy shots of women. I mean in general are there any other people around? All your shots today look to be of popular places, but nearly no one in your shots just standing around being tourists, or locals for that matter. It's odd.
  15. @Wyldnwoody44, These pics are fantastic. Where are all the people? If you ever tie up that damn flow of yours in a damn man bun again that will be the last time. Much Love, NS
  16. @GASabresIUFAN, One issue I have is that Doyle Alexander did not pitch on the WS winning Tigers in 1987. That's cus the Twins won it in 1987. Doyle did not pitch for the Tigers in 1984, which was the last year the Tigers won the WS. Other than that, carry on ...
  17. IMO, the 'kids' that landed on D-Day were mid 20's + (the average age of a combat soldier in WWII was 26) and battle hardened vets. The British and Canadians were vets of a 5 year war at the time. The US soldiers were at it for 2.5. Sorry, but there is a huge difference.
  18. That is becoming more of a think since RB77 in Colorado. The Blues have a number of grizzled old vets (Jay B. being one) that just wanted to touch that thing and they have been through so much this year.
  19. Are you the same at 50 (just a guess) as you were in your very early 20s? I certainly am not. And who is being negative? We are simply saying that Jack has some growing to do, which is pretty evident. There is a great sign in front of a school on our way to our new house in Prospect Bay ... it reads - 'Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.'
  20. @jsb, I like most of your proposal. The best part? I just get to sit around and wait for @TrueBlueGED to blow a gasket concerning Callahan.
  21. I think the problem with Jack is that he is just a kid. A very spoiled kid that has always had things his way. He needs a grandfatherly mentor to get him out of that mindset and I hope that the new coach will have a better idea as how best to do that. IMO, that is the #1 reason why coach was hired.
  22. Sizzle is very stealthy in his snark. He posted a very similar post in another thread. Very under the radar snark and I am sure he has his jester suit on this morning. In all these years I do not recall him being a for real snarkster.
  23. I have very little doubt that he will be in the Norris conversation by year 3, or 4, and likely win a few(+) in his prime years.
  24. I tried it once for that very purpose ... to keep up with business contacts that use it regularly. It was great at first, but then I was inundated with crap and ads and junk. I can't figure out how that happened. And once you sign up they have you right where they want you. I deleted my account and they said it would take 90 days to complete the delete and all the while we will inundate you with more junk trying to pull you back in. Well, it has been almost 2 years now and they are still reminding me almost daily how easy it is to reactivate my account and how I can become a 'twitter pro'.
  25. No worries my fair Darth. By that time poor Paul was on concussion #74, or so, and was a fraction of his earlier self. I feel badly for him. Great player. I can't remember, but I don;t think he has his name on the cup If the Blues hang on to win tonight I believe 10 of the 16 wins were on the road. Fantastic.
