  1. @thewookie1's point was he is likely to be a star and he is correct. Power will be a star player in the NHL and I hope that it's for the Sabres. I am sick of the Sabres trading away the good players. They are not the problem. Motivation is an issue now. Most of the roster is not very good. That is a problem.
  2. These guys are spoiled rotten. Nice room, eh. Who cares ??
  3. The line up for the BJ contest starts behind me ... the rest of you are on your own. MUST WIN !! GO SABRES !! YUP !! IT'S THAT TIME .........
  4. And when Jacques mysteriously re-appeared out of the mist.
  5. Clementines !! Nuff said. Except .. why are they only available by the case at this time of year ?? I can eat these yummy bite sized orange delights by the case full year round. Only drawback is the potential for the citrus rash if I eat to many in one sitting.
  6. The game is played on the field. The difference in winning or losing is often a matter of inches.
  7. It's clear what you must do. Go home and ask you wife / husband / girlfriend / boyfriend for a special BJ to make up for this tragic error.
  8. The biggest difference is the coaching (I suppose KA had a say in it) decision that in order to take the next step and be competative in the playoff this season (the goal was to reach the playoff this season, especially since they just missed last season) was to focus on team defence. Last season the Sabres won many games becaue they were scoring goals at a feverish pace. The D game focus coupled with injuries to key offensive players (with team depth not quite where it needs to be) have the Sabres not playing at a playoff pace. I have no real issue with Clifton being on a 3 year contract. He will be fine. I always give about 40 games for new players to adjust. EJ is fine for the veteran D inspiration on a 1 year deal. I don't know if he will be brought back next season, but the Sabres still need a 30 something year old vet on D for next year. Ideally, I would target someone 32 that they can give a 2 year deal to be a rock solid vet back there that has a bit more left in the tank than Erik. I have no idea who that might be.
  9. I had a feeling in my gut that the Bills would win big. It's more exciting when more teams are competitive. In the end I think the Bills win the division.
  10. Another Monday = another Nor'Easter. Our 4th Monday storm in a row just getting started. https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/hourly-weather-forecast/nova-scotia/halifax At least it will be warm.
  11. He does manage to take in Bills games, or at least show up in the locker room at games end. I am not critical of the owner. This appears to be KA's show. When your roster depth is iffy, at best, it's a recipe for disaster. When you pretty much put all your goaltending eggs in the basket of a rookie, it's a recipe for disaster. 6K was fine last night and gave the Sabres a chance to win, but the others didn't want it badly enough. In many games the goalie is not really the problem. There is a lot of skill in the top half of the roster, but very little heart.
  12. I thought the discussion was concerning the rebuilding stage. Not the current standings.
  13. It was the right call. I don't think there needs to be a suspension though.
  14. Not the Habs. Not yet passing the Sabres. Just about even, I think. I'd argue the dastardly ones are not more talented, but coached *differently*. The Red Wings are further along the rebuilding process and they are GMed *differently*.
  15. Bottom line is .. when your goaler gives up only 2 there is a more than reasonable expectation that any other NHL team will get 3 to win it. Terrible. Anyway, who's next?
  16. Quoting myself ... My contact with Intuit finished up at the end of August. I kept in touch with my Manager after that and he recently told me that they planned to hire one or two Tax Experts on year round contracts. Part-time, but flexability to work up to 40 hours per week. I told them that I was interested and my manager recommended me. Had to go through the process. On Friday they offered me the job and I accepted. I have to provide (them too) 20 hours a week and that is what I plan to do, but I will do more if I am available. I like the work. Still have my regular clients, which pays the bills. So, this is extra saving and fun money.
  17. Indeed. Not many know that. Only true Hosers from the Great White North. Welcome to SabreSpace. What part of BC are you posting from? We have a number of BCers here. Greetings from the right hand coast.
  18. Leaders lead is right. Especially those without a letter. The next captain needs to be Dahlin, IMO. I think that the Sabres will re-sign Tuch, but probably not for more than 3 or 4 years.
