I think the Leaves would have loved to not sign him this time around, but what could they do. There best shot at a cup in in the next few years and with him on the team. If the Leaves ever win a cup with him he will be traded that very offseason, maybe even before the parade. That's not to say that I think they will win a cup, as I don't.

And where is this Puzzles? That's the wrong spirit, but perfectly understandable. RaKru and the crew will beat you into submission and you will love it and learn to love the Sabres again.

Thanks. I just picked a significant date and said to myself that's it. I was not a heavy smoker, only 5 smokes a day at the time last year. I had quit for about 20 years when were first married and took it up again during an extremely stressful time ... my wife was basically held hostage in Sarajevo in 2005 and we had to hire and trust a Croatian thug / gangster to smuggle her out and into Croatia. Anyway ... picking a significant day (birthday, or something) may work for you. The folks around here really helped with support and one thing that @SwampD said really stands out ... he said what helped him was thinking of himself as a non-smoker and after the first week that thought in my head carried me through to now.

My wife and I have been under a huge amount of stress for the last year and last months especially. That is not the fantastic part. The fantastic part is ... Tomorrow is my 55th birthday, which is OK. Tomorrow will also mark one year since I quit smoking. Fantastic, if I do say so myself. If all the stress of the last 6 months has not lead to my taking it up again I really think that nothing will. That said, it is an ongoing work in progress. I have not been very tempted, but in those few instances my wife really helped me through them. I had promised her last October 5th that I will not take it up again and for all my faults I am a man of my word and not just to her. After almost 31 years, many of which have not been easy, I would merry her all over again in a second.

You are not an idiot. You just missed all of the @PASabreFan sponsored training sessions, but you are in luck since the refresher sessions (not all SabreSpacers have bought into the RaKru thingie) are just about to start up. Registration is easy ...

Upon reflection this morning I think the best way to sum the game up is this ... Every single player was asked to do very specific things and were put into a positon to not only perform the things they were asked to do, but put into a position to succeed at it. Not one player was asked to do something they could not do. Granted it was one game, but the above is squarly on RaKru. The Sabres players were coached to win and they listened. This is some thing that has not happened in a very long time. RaKru took the roster as constructed and used it perfectly.

Well that was fun. Off to my make shift bed. See you all on the other side if dawn. NS standing down from active duty.

Not to take anything away from Jack, but Sid was a 'game time' decision and was not 100% last night.

This is a new season, new coach and new system. Was Dahlin our best defensive defenseman last season? I don't think so.

OK. I think for a very good reason. Dahlin should not get the minutes he got last season, IMHO. At least not early in the season.

I bet a lot that much of that difference was in the 3rd period when, as @Taro T pointed out, they were defending a 2 goal lead. Not to worry, my friend.

The Sabres played like a real *team*. It was a complete team effort, which is what RaKru has been preaching. I would not worry about ice time. It worked and next time the times will likely come out different.

No complaints, but I really hope that the Friday thread opens soon.
