Sabres Fan in NS

Today is Shaban 30. This means there can be no doubt when Ramadan starts. It will be today at sunset. There is a very good chance that I will be able to see the new cresent moon that will mark the official beginning of Ramadan. The first fasting day will start tomorrow at dawn ... 4:45 AM ... and will end at sunset ... 8:12 PM. I have already said that I will be delaying my fasting due to many reasons and hope to make up the fasting days in the coming year, which includes my non-essential Internet fast. So, you all will have to try to make it through this coming month WITH ME, rather than without, as in past Ramadans ... ha!!

Maybe @Hank was questioning the first part and was wondering why you were mentioning an old and decrepit rock and roll band in your post about hockey in July?

At the current state of affairs ... we are still not seen the top of the mountain (?), curve (?) ... whatever they call it ... here in NS. It is still getting worse and when it really gets to Africa I see no way that it will not be making at least one more trip around the globe after that. So, July 2121? Maybe? Seriously, why are they even thinking of such a thing?

I got mine for the first 4 week period. Thanks, Canadian taxpayers. Now I am using *strategery* (can't believe I'm quoting 'that guy') to make sure I get it in 3 of 7 remaining eligability periods. I am also making sure that I will not have to pay income tax on it, since it is taxable (what a joke) here in Canada. You didn't hear any of this from me, eh!!

Simply because there is no better alternative available right now. With all the changes in the last few years I would be surprised if JBOT, or Ralph, go the boot any time soon.

Ramadan will be starting most likely at sunset on Thursday, if not, then Friday for sure. If you recall part of my fast is of non-essential internet usage. Under the circumstances (COVID and now the mass shooting today in NS and other stessers in my life too numerous to mention ... like still owning 2 homes and now even less ways to pay the bills of two ...) I have decided that I will not be fasting this Ramadan in any way. Allah has described Himself as the most merciful and most gracious in the Qur'an. I believe Him, so I know that he understands my choice here. I will make up the fasting days (29, or 30) at an other time, or not, and I will be observing Ramadan in other ways ... I read the entire Qur'an each Ramadan, which I always look forward to and will do this Ramadan. Sorry @shrader, I know you were counting down the minutes to my annual SabreSpace fast (insert winkie thingie here). I need you guys and gals more than ever right now. Thanks.

Thank you, good sir. It is unreal around here now. Many stories and rumours, none good. My wife just told me that a friend of ours her cousin was shot and killed when he stopped to try to help when the two cop cars were burning. This is just terrible. I feel that NS has lost it's innocence and we will never be the same again.

It ended at a gas station when the RCMP finally caught up with the jackass shooter. They shot him dead while he was getting ready to blow it up. That gas station is about 25 KM from our house ... the one on the ocean and not in the city ... it is only about 15KM from our house in the city ... if he had blown up that gas station who knows what kind of damage it would have done. It is on the main highway to and from Halifax and it's right beside the airport. It's the biggest gas station in Nova Scotia, maybe even in all of Atlantic Canada.

I think Miller would be a notch, or two, above Edwards and then Sauve. Crozier was great and if he was at the top of his game in 1975 then who knows what might have happened. DesJardins was brought in '75 for the playoffs and he kind of ran out of gas, or something.

@Derrico, no need for a sad face, my friend. NS loves you!! You are not part of The Great Satan. No way, no how. Now, if you are sad about my first point in the post, well that's another story. I am sad about that too, but it's not just in Ontario that I feel they are fudging the numbers.

This stinks. Who is this guy? I have always supported him, but some of this stuff is really Mickey Mouse. So Mickey Mousey that even Mickey Mouse wouldn't make a move like that.

First of all, I don't think those numbers are a true reflection. Second, the people in The Great Satan are so full of themselves, they would not allow themselves to test positive, even when they are. True story. (actually, I'm only half way joking on point 2) ...
