We have stickers everywhere, entrances to store that are separate from exits (before it was a coming and going free for all), if the COVID won't kill us all then the cleaning chemicals surely will ... it's all madness, I say. As far as masks go, our medical people have now made it pretty much manditory if you are in a setting where physical distancing (I like that term better, it's sexier) is not practical. What in blazes does that mean? We are still supposed to be staying the blazes home (pretty much). Masks are only goingto protect someone from getting COVID from you. They do very little to prevent you from getting it, especially when I see everyone and their dogs constantly adjusting their masks with their crubby paws, you damn dirty ape (opps ... wrong scene). I swear, I'm a gonna find my old time goaler mask and wear it around. That'll scare 'em all away. Speaking of sexy ... I have some photos of a real sexy woman wearing a real freakin' sexy mask to show you, but I was sworn to secrecy.

This should be interesting. Has the NHL cancelled the rest of the regualr season? Is draft order based on the standings now? What is this nonsense that I am hearing about 24 teams and playoffs, or something?

Quoting myself, here. Not a first. @Sabel79, I knew you would like this. The Clash ... so much social commentary on 10, or so, relevant at the time topics ... all packed into a little over 4 minutes of awesomeness. Only Mick and Joe could do that and many don't even realize that is exactly what they were doing in every single tune. EVERY. ONE. No wander The Clash were the only band that ever mattered. Lets see for this one they cover ... curfews, immigration, race relations, police brutality, riots, gun violence, wealth disparity, youth issues, army crackdows, drugs, gangs, punks and the sellouts, fighting, new groups (The Jam) just in it for money, voting is a waste of time, the idiocy of the system that would dictate that a limo would be sent even for A.H., a white man in a black neighbourhood would be looking for fun ......... all in 4 minutes.

"If Adolf Hitler flew in today ... they'd send a limousine anyway" Thank you Mick and Joe. They don't write 'em like this anymore.

Thank you, my friend. Well, it would not be Eid without the annual Eid Controvercy. Usually the moon is not sighted, but there are rouge states that say they saw it (no offence, but it usually is Pakistan and India) and start Eid before anyone else. This Ramadan / Eid the scientific calculation method told us that it would be not likely, but possible that the new crescent moon to mark the end of Ramadan could be visible (science told us that it would be possible) under ideal conditions in West Africa just before sunset. Sure enough there were credible and verified sightings in at least Senegal and Mauritania. The moon set at 7:25 local time in that part of the world. Plenty of time to see the new cresent before sunset, which was right around the same time. Of course, the Saudis (the most unislamic and racist country out there in the so-called Muslim world) did not accept the sighting and announced that Saturday would be Ramadan 30 and Sunday would Shawwal 1 and Eid 1. The whole world does not typically go against the Saudis, except a few times that those previously mentioned rouge states do. I am extremely proud to say that the Islamic Society of Nova Scotia and of Ottawa, Ontario where the rouge states this time that defied the Saudis and accepted the moon sighting on Friday and declared that Ramadan ended at sunset on Friday and that Eid 1 would be Saturday. We were the only states to accept the moon sighting in Senegal and Mauritania, other than some West Africa counties. Eid Mubarak, indeed.

The Pulled Over by the Cops Thread
Sabres Fan in NS replied to ubkev's topic in The Auto Club's Topics
Sadly, this is the norm for people of colour, or what ever makes them that little bit different. I agree that racism in all forms needs to be eradicated. I am here actually to make such a post in the religion thread. Join me over there, if you dare. -
Hot dogs are the worst thing ever invented. That's all

Sorry for the loss, but I am also sorry to say that I never heard of him. +++++ In other news ... Ramadan ends tomorrow at sunset. Weirdest Ramadan that I have known.

This could work. The fans are rabid up here in the Great White North. Halifax would welcome a team in a heartbeat. They would have to work in Canadian $. There is more than enough talent to supply good players that would probably not make it in the NHL. It would be the CFL of pro hockey leagues, which is OK, because Canadians love there hockey much more than their CFL. And I am all in on the Buffalo Sabres being welcomed into this new CNHL. EDIT TO ADD: There is enough big corporations and rich families that would love to get their hands on a franchise.

The oddness and the almost meanness was what made Frank Frank. *You wanna piece of me? You got it!* What about the soft and gentle Frank. The Frank of Festivus ... up until the airing of grievances and the feats of strength.

I hope he has found it. RIP Frank Costanza.

It looks like the people in the second photo are not maining the mandated 6 foot distancing thingie. I really hope that distancing continues for ever. I'd up the ante to 10 feet, if I were king.

I'm on a media fast from terrible news of COVID and mass shootings and helicopter crashes ... Did something happen to Don? I hated the *fish* and wanted the Bills to *squish the fish* everytime, but always respected Don as a learned man of the game. Anyone that can coach an NFL team to a perfect record trough a regular season and playoff deserves our respect, I think.

Is thing still on ... Hello, hello, can you hear me now ????? Friday was very good ... that's all.

My understanding is that it was revealed in sections, but not as it is now with the ordering and the organization of the Sura and Aya as they are now. Ayat means signs in Arabic, so the Qur'an was revealed by Aya. The ordering came later. For example, the Qur'an starts with Sura Fatiha, but it was not the first aya revealed. The first revelation is somewhere in the middle of the Qur'an, where Muhammad (PBUH) is commanded by God to *recite, in the name of God, for it is He who taught man the use of the pen* (paraphrazing here). This was when God told Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Gabriel, that he has been choosen to be a Messenger of God. So, the Prophet began to recite what was revealed and scribes bagan to write it all down. The final canonization happened in the third caliphate under Uthman, who was a companion of the Prophet. This happened around 20 years after Muhammad (PBUH) died. The process actually began during the lifetime of the Prophet.

A helicopter crash off the coast of Greece claimed the lives of 6 crew members. They were members of the Canadian Air Force stationed at CFB Shearwater here in Halifax. April has not been a good month in Nova Scotia ... COVID worsening still, mass shootings and now this. ***** April, 2020!! This is one of the best tributes to a fallen soldier that I have ever seen ...

Today is Ramadan 8. I read a section of the Qur'an each morning. It divides very nicely into 30 sections ... one for each day of the month (especially Ramadan, when every Muslim is encouraged to read the entire Qur'an). I spend about an hour and a half each morning doing this. It is a great way for me to start my day. Yesterday I read one of my favourite ayat, which is in Sura 6 ... 6:38 'There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on it's wings, but forms part of communities like you. Nothing have We omitted from the Book and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end'. That warms my heart.
