Only in my dreams ... ? -
Yeah, I know who you were referring to. My question was in general terms and not about anyone specifically. Do you have any thoughts to share on my question? If not, that's okay.

We had about 2.5 hours of rain early this AM. The first rain in over a month. We are in out 3, or 4, years of draught. The times, they are a changin'. Thanks, Bob. Love Bob.

Seeing this as not capitalized has me thinking and wondering your opinion on something. I often look at the accepted definition of zealot and wonder when the switch happened from it being viewed as a positive to a mostly negative view of the word and when using it to describe a person? I think of some of the greatest men and women down through the ages to be true zealots ... Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad and many others. What do you think about this idea? The first Zealots were a band of Jewish rebels against the Roman Empire in the time just after Jesus.

Venice is fantastic, but tends to be overrun. I really like Florence. Pompeii is very intereting too. My wife and I were almost locked in there over-night when we lost track of time and were hopelessy lost in the maze. We had the place to ourselves too, which is rare.

Canada gave the world another power rock trio in the 1970s. Not as popular worldwide as RUSH, but these guys were really good too.

Medeira is perfect, especially now with the cruise ships not dumping any annoying people there.

I also like the home of CR7 a lot ... Madeira, Portugal. I will find some pictures.

Joe's famous reaction when he was told that a Billboard (I think it was them, or maybe Rolling Stone) Magazine poll put London Calling as the top album of the 80s ... "I thought it was released in 1979". Love Joe ... RIP brother. Even though Joe was the son on a Diplomat and born in Turkey he grew up to be the best poet of his time. He is right, of course. London Calling was released in the UK in December of 1979 and in January 1980 in North America. I did not discover London Calling and The Clash until 1982. I was 18 and that album definately changed my life.

If I close my eyes I'd swear I was listening to King Crimson from about 1975. Starless and Bible Black.

Yet another Friday ... yous all know the rest ... Also, have been reminiscing a bit this morning. I generally don't feel, or look old(er), but it just struck me this morning that it has been 40 years since the release of the album that changed my life. This has me thinking that it's a fantastic Friday for this reason too. And it's not their best album, IMHO, but it did change my life.

In other news ... Today at sunset Eid ul Adha will start. The festival of the sacrifice. It is the most significant day on the Islamic calendar. It also makes the end of the Hajj Pilgrimage, which was not really much of anything this year ... a handful of residents of Arabia were allowed to be on Hajj. Again, as with the Eid al Fitr to mark the end of the fasting month, this Eid is going to be very different than any other year that I can remember. In 3 weeks it will be our new year ... 1442. 1442 years since the migration from Mecca to Medina.

Of course, you are right, but this is the first summer that I can remember since we moved to Halifax (22 years ago) that we have extreme heat and humididty even right at the ocean. Inland has been progressively worse over the last 5 to 10 years. And it does not cool in the evening, or overnight.

For once the idiot politicians listened to the rioting (or as close as we NSers can get to a riot) masses ... https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/nova-scotia-shooting-public-inquiry-celebration-march-halifax-1.5667415 The cowards said they were just going to do a small review of what happened. They had no clue. This was the worst mass shooting in the history of Canada ... modern and pre-historic Canada. The RCMP and the Province really ***** up the handling of the event. Now, hopefully, we can really see what went wrong and learn from it.
