Taylor Hall signing: 8 million one yr with Sabres
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
For sure of the recent. Even over the 50 year (give, or take) history. I can't think of a bigger name that came in UFA. The other big ones over the years came by trade. -
I still think the Sabres should sign Samson. With Hall here now I am thinking less term (I wanted long term ... 7, or 8 years), maybe as little as 3. It will be interesting to see what happens. Staal may not sign on for another year. Hall may not either. Then what, if we don't sign Samson to some decent term?

Should the Sabres Claim Tyler Johnson from Waivers?

I voted just now and I hope it's not too late. No, by the way. -

I have been thinking about it a bit and I think this is the biggest UFA signing in the history of the Sabres. -

If I'm Hall I'm only signing for 1 year no matter where it was, but especially Buffalo. We now have to convince him to stay. I don't think any Sabre wears #4 now that Bogo is gone. I'd like to see the Sabres let Hall wear #4. He wore it in Edmonton to honour Jean Béliveau. -
It's legit *the fridge* account.

So far, it seems that the new GM has replaced all of the old GM filler parts with his own. Also replaced Mojo with Staal, which is an upgrade at a needed position. So far, so good.

I agree. Pre COVID the deal he got would be the market value, or there abouts. The Sabres did reward him for his loyalty and they like his game better than Larry's, but if Zemgus left they probably would have offered a similar deal to Larry. No. Not this FA period. Last year (pre COVID) ... probably.
-
Probably not. Angry Larry took less $ to not play for the Sabres. Imagine how bad it must be for him to go wonder in the desert. The Sabres would have paid Larry more, but sometimes it's not just about the $.

Exactly. The Canadian based teams have a distinct disadvantage.

WOOFER!!
-
This has been debunked several times on here. The only advantage really is an exchange advantage of US based teams over Canadian based teams.

What time does the *transfer window* (😎) open?

Free ????? Glad you are doing well. Take care.

Wayne Simmonds Given Permission To Leave

This is a good perspective. He's a good guy and I would have loved him on the Sabres as recently as 5 years ago, but not now. -
Offseason News 2020-21 (Non-Sabres Edition)
Sabres Fan in NS replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I know a number of people who have survived COVID and were considered to have beaten it only to die some weeks later from a series of mysterious strokes, or lung, or heart issues. Long term survival is going to be a big thing for some / many. -
A small notch, but still a notch, eh.

Who should the Sabres target for a veteran defensemen?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to SHAAAUGHT!!!'s topic in The Aud Club
He is not 1st pair guy, so bring in someone who is and keep Risto as a #4. I only trade him for top 6 forward help. -

So, would not the solution be to keep a good player, but put him in a position to use his strengths? -
I believe so.

Has anyone suggested @darksabre yet? If not, I will, and if so, I agree.

Trade 8!!
