  1. In 1995 the Devils were a very stacked team and did not play the trap. They beat all comers fair and square. 2000, I don't think was a trap year ... they still were stacked. 2003, well maybe that was a trap year. I agree completely about the 1998 and 1999 Sabres. They were very sound defensively, but good offensively too. They had a real *baller* in Hasek, though.
  2. The Devils when they won their cups I don't think they played that damn trap, well at least the first two anyway. Marty and Scott were the reasons. Was it boring in 1998 and, especially, 1999?
  3. Kind of like the Sabres during the Hasek years, eh?
  4. Nobody thought he was a crappy owner, just cheap. The story was he had billions, but took sugar packs home from restaurants so he didn't have to buy sugar. Hence ... Ol' Sugar Packs. He was venerated for, literally, saving the Sabres. The crappy part of that dynamic (?????) due was that weasel Quinn.
  5. It's Spring here too. We are expecting snow sometime soon.
  6. You doing the Ramadan countdown too, eh? It's never too soon.
  7. Yay us!! Leaves are still from The Great Satan, so ***** them, eh!!
  8. The 11 and 7 is just dumb. FFS!! PLAY HALL!! NS is getting angry ...
  9. To bad we can't play these guys every game. MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!!
  10. I think I posted it some place up thread, but just in case I did not ... ... play to win, so DO NOT sit one of your best players. EVER!!
  11. MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!! That said, @inkman is on to something too ...
  12. Anything by The Clash and I'm good. And @Taro T the LOL thingie was not for your whole post, just the B. J. part, which I hope would be pretty obvious.
  13. Yes. *Taro says* ... so, yes. It's a good way to put all the discussion about the good recent play in one place.
  14. Welcome back @Taro T. Easter Blessings to you and your family. I agree that the key player in all this is Ullie, but others seem to have stepped up too. I think that reflects on the slightly different coaching approach. The team as a whole really looks to be playing harder, faster and with passion.
  15. Do the Sabres play today? I have no idea what day it is.
  16. The Christian calendar is not lunar. At some point the Christian leadership decided that Christmas needs to be celebrated near one of the highest Pegan holidays, which was / is at the winter solstice. Passover is not Pegan, you must know that. Easter was placed on the Christian calendar to coincide with Passover, as Jesus (you are right, a Jew) returned for Passover. Passover in Judaism must be based on the lunar cycle in some way, but I am uncertain as to how. The last supper is commemorted on Holy Thursday, you are right, which would have been the first night of Passover, which is traditionally the Sedar feast. Although some have a Sedar on the first two nights of Passover.
  17. Partially, but Christmas was placed in December right around the solstice, which was one of the highest of the Pegan Holidays. Jesus returned to Jerusalem for Passover, so it only made sence when they decided to base Easter on his death and rising that it be in line with Passover, which it is. It is intersting to note that if the last supper actually happened, as most Christians believe, that it was a Seder.
  18. You're a clown. If you do not care about wins why follow this, or any other, team?
  19. I know ... that's why I laughed. It was funny.
  20. LOL!! Hyphens (sp ?????) are important. Am I right, @inkman?
  21. Play to win, so no. I am going to have a party when Hall is re-signed.
