  1. No one thought they would beat the Leaves. No one thought they would beat the Jets. Colorado and Vegas are both a lot better than the Leaves and Jets, but I will not give up on the Habs. This seems to be a special year, like in '93. 2 main reason they have a reasonably good chance are Price and Weber. The supporting cast is playing great playoff hockey. And their coach has them prepared very well and is an excellent coach. He coached the Mooseheads to the Memorial Cup in 2013.
  2. I am not sure if many people know what herd immunity really means. Sorry, @Doohickie, but there is no possible way to achieve herd immunity with 40 - 50 % vaccination rates. I don't see COVID being very different than any other virus in that regard.
  3. Super PC has nothing to do with it and you know it. Anyway, at least 8 goals.
  4. Why? My wife is from Montreal and I have been a fan of them almost as long as I have of the Sabres. Sabres are and always will be my #1, but Montreal are and always will be my #2, but only when the Sabres are not playing. It's not like they are one of the dastardly duo, eh.
  5. GO HABS!! I really am beginning to think that this is their year. Reminds me of '93 when no one gave them a chance and Roy was just lights out, especially in all those OT games, 3 of which were in the sweep of the Sabres, if I recall correctly. That was the 'May Day' playoff.
  6. While I agree with everything here and I hate the Bruins as much as the next guy, but we have to come up with some other phrase than the bolded. Another poster pointed it out, probably in this thread, and I agree it just doesn't sit well. No offense to you, my friend.
  7. Multiple Powers sigtings. Hey ,oh @inkman ...
  8. Okay. You got me there. Also, glad you found that 9th grade yearbook photo you were looking for.
  9. Are you sure it's not Powers? I have made my point in his thread. He will be a stud D. It would be unwise, IMO, to trade the pick, or not to use it on Power.
  10. I think this could be a thing, but I doubt it would be a blockbuster where everyone is moved in one trade. For the record, again ... I don't think that Eich, or Samson should be traded, Risto I think so, especially if we keep the pick and take Power. I don't know what kind of leader he is, but one player I would want in this scenario would be 24 year old Mitch Marner.
  11. What? Science is not baloney. And Mr. Hawking did not say that science does not mean no God. In fact, she blinded me with science ... 😎
  12. Good man. Striving in anything is jihad. That is what the word in Arabic means. A vast majority of the time jihad is undertaken for good.
  13. There used to be a book reading thread here, but I can't find it. Anyway, it's time for my once every 10 year, or so, attempt at 'A Brief History of Time'. I have made several attempts, but never finished it. Mr. Hawking's brain was no bigger than mine, but he did manage to cram so much more into his. It's not that he uses real big words, but the concepts are quite beyong me and probably most people. I am 30 pages in and feel good about this attempt.
  14. You're a good man @Doohickie. It takes a good man to admit when they are wrong. Hug accepted and reciprocated. That said, I have no idea what you are talking about. Between my fasting month and not following all that closely since my return I missed the whole jerk fest.
  15. Why am I wishing that the summer was over already? It's not even officially started yet.
  16. Weber does not equal __________ (fill in the blank with just about anyone) Not saying you are not right on the $ with your post, but Weber is also playing some of his best playoff hockey ever.
  17. MUST WIN!! GO HABS!!
  18. Salvatore's. Hydrostone Market, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. My friends run it. Great pizza, but not your 'fast food' kind of pizza.
  19. I hate those damn Bruins so much. That's it. That's the post. #dastardly
  20. The OP is now blank in the middle, so what's all the hubbub bub?
  21. He did fight that guy that one time there. Kind of. He did have that scar thing going for him. Kind of.
  22. Perfect playoff hockey game by the Habs and almost as good by the Jets. The Habs will likely play Colorado next, if I am not mistaken. Good luck to them on that. I have the Avs winning the cup, with MacKinnon (!! 😎) as MVP. The PK trade was to Nashville for Weber. PK was then traded (I believe) to NJ. Weber was the best player in the victory over The Great Satan. Sure Price was Priceless too. Both will play big roles (already have) in likely beating the Jets. Watch out against Colorado, though. PK is still a very good player, IMO, but he is not in the same spotlight as he was in the real 'hockey heaven' of Montreal. His style of play leads to a downturn in skill level before it happens to a player like Weber.
  23. They also have that other key to winning in the playoff ... a shutdown D that eats minutes like a machine. Weber is still one of the best. I know you are / were a big PK guy, but that is one of the best trades ever in the HHL. MUST WIN!! GO HABS!! @Ducky, I was only joking about the frozen tundra. Stay cool and hydrated. 35+ is not pleasant atoll.
  24. I believe @MODO Hockey was referring to any coaching experience in the HHL, not HC. Same as above. I believe all three you mentioned had NHL coaching experience before being hired as HC here, but not HC. Not 100% sure about Nolan. I think down the ages, the Sabres hired very few with HC experience. Bowman and Muckler come to mind as two that did. Looking back, if Scotty would have agreed to be coach only and let some other dude be GM we could have had a cup, except that the time frame was dominated by Islander and then Edmonton dynasties. Seems, I was correct. I will take all the applause now. Standing ovation, if you please.
