Denmark is through to the quarter finals in convincing fashion. They will meet Netherlands or Czech Republic up next. They may have a chance against the Czechs, but that would mean that they were to upset Netherlands in the 16 match. I can't see them beating the Netherlands in the quarters.

The elimation matches start today. In the early match ... Denmark leads Wales 2 - 0 in the 57th minute. I had hoped Wales would pull it off for *reasons*, but this is not a huge upset if the score holds. At 4:00 PM (ADT) we have Italy and Austria. It is fantastic that Montreal won again. It is great that the Cup will be contested for in Canada again. I really do feel that the Cup will be back home in Canada. To be honest, the only US based team that I want to win the Cup is Buffalo. The only Canadian based team that I never want to win the Cup ever is The Great Satan, but that should go without saying.

Well, my Slovaks are going down in a real blaze of something other than glory. And Sweden scores at 90+5 to take the lead after Poland tied it late. Both matches now final ... Sweden wins the Group E and Spain is through at second in the group. Slovakia with a terrible GD will be hard pressed to be a third place finisher to advance.
