  1. This is a good question and on the surface it does seem odd for them to do that, but yes. The Sabres do not have many really desirable players, so Seattle will have to take someone basically to fill a roster spot. There are other teams that will not be able to protect much more desirable players and Seattle will take as many of those as possibe. I think that makes sense, but maybe only to me ... lol!!
  2. The deal came about after getting Jeff to waive.
  3. This is exactly right. This move proves that he is a real team player here in Buffalo. I can't see anyway that Seattle will take him. This allows the Sabres to protect another forward that they would have to and there is a real risk that player could have been sellected by Seattle. As @LGR4GM noted, there is the distinct possiblility that there is a gentleman's (for now) deal in place for Seattle to select a lesser Dman (likely Miller) in exchange for a law end draft pick.
  4. Hey, Matt ... It's been a long time. How are you doing?
  5. I agree that UPL is not quite ready. I do think that Linus will be back.
  6. Léon - The Professional
  7. That whole interview looked chopped to pieces and edited to kind of fit a narrative for the Boston fans. The whole part in question looks like it was pieced together from 5+ years of interviews with Jack at home in Boston. I have a feeling that answer about playing in Boston was recorded much earlier in his career, maybe even before he was drafted. He maybe referring to his BC days, as I don't hear him actually say 'Bruins', but maybe I missed that. I am not going to listen to it again. DASTARDLY!!
  8. To the question at hand ... yes, if the right deal could be struck both would be very good veteran additions. If it's an either / or thing than that is a bit tougher, but I think Suter over Parise.
  9. I like it. It's clean and neat and I don't really notice the rocket thingie. The only thing I noted in the Randomer Thread was that I still rather be in Sarajevo, or Istanbul (not Constantinople) since that feature went away in the upgrade. I also want to thank @SDS for all that you do to keep us distacted for a while from the rigours of life.
  10. How about a refund for last year and a recduction for this coming season?
  11. Good job, but #9 (LANNY!!) is retired by the Flames
  12. Welcome to SabreSpace. Is this the Ghost of @PASabreFan?
  13. Good match. Good tournament. Good side won. I still do not like penalties to decide the final of a major international tournament, but I am happy the Italians won. I had predicted them to take it from the beginning. On to WC in 2022.
  14. Good match. I hope beyond hope not for penalties.
  15. English fans, well some, will never be classy. Already, England is up 1 - 0 in the 7th minute.
  16. You are correct about Rammer and Bill. Was not @tom webster sellected in the Expansion Draft? And traded right away. I know I should never question Punch, but that is my memory of those events.
  17. I know all the local yokels and they don't scare me atoll. *WITH THE FIRST PICK IN THE 2021 ENTRY DRAFT THE BUFFALO SABRES ARE PLEASED TO SELECT OWEN POWER*
  18. Thank you for your service and welcome back to SabreSpace.
  19. Argentina pulled it off, beating host Brazil 1 - 0 last night. It is Messi's first title with his National Team in his long career.
  20. This thread is going from bad to extremely bad. I just want this ***** throwing to end, so I hope they trade Jack soon just for that reason. To be clear, I am not in the trade Jack camp.
  21. I agree with all of this, but I think it needs to be emphasised that your point of 'currently' is most important. I am not saying that in the past many players had Buffalo on the top of their lists of desired teams to play for, but up until 10 years ago it was, mostly, a well run franchise. And good players came to play here willingly. I also agree that Power should be the Sabres first pick.
