  1. Then who do we put with Rasmus II? Miller, or Pysyk? Maybe someone from the dregs? I think Miller.
  2. I'm confused. Not the first time. I thought the ADR was the more risky surgery and the fusion was less risky? Then again, I'm not a doctor and here I am questioning one ...
  3. I think Anderson will be one of the 2 regulars to start the season. I think he still has something to give. I don't think the Sabres will have a 'starter' and a 'backup' ... it'll be more 2 goalies I think Anderson playes the year in Buffalo and they will rotate in between the others, unless another goalie shakes free before the season starts.
  4. Which surgery? The high-risk one that John wants, or the less risky one that the Sabres medical staff seem to think is warranted at this time?
  5. I think you have the date of the Risto trade wrong? I think it was the 23rd, so the Sabres could use the pick in the first round that evening. Now, I'm just over-bored and read the whole list and being a big pain in the ass.
  6. Now you have Davidson twice. Unless we actually signed 2 lol ...
  7. Just quoting @nfreeman excellent post here, just so it doesn't drift to far down the rabbit hole as this thread will like get to several more hundred pages in the next few hours.
  8. As @nfreeman (a lawyer, if I recall correctly) pointed out the statement did not say exactly what surgery the Sabre doctors had now said is needed. Seems that they were very cleaver not to say what surgery. Maybe the Sabres docs have said that a lesser proceedure may be warranted at this time if rest has not helped that much. Apparently, there is a less risky proceedure than what John wants.
  9. Sad story, but also inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
  10. I do believe that the Sabre medical staff are giving good advice to not have the surgery. It is a last resort type of thing, IMO, and has (apparently) never been performed on a hockey player. I do not believe that the Sabre medical staff ever drifted from that position and the agent's are outright lying in the PR statement. I do not think that the statement deserves a response from the Sabres.
  11. Taking a break is a good idea. Myself and @Taro T do annual breaks at certain points each year. It's great from my perspective and Taro has said the same. Look forward to see a refreshed @PerreaultForever when the season starts, or training camp, or whenever. Hopefully the dust will settle around the team by then. Have a great summer.
  12. At age 25. When I was proposing and 8 x 8 deal and thought that it got the Sabres 2 UFA years I forgot about the 7 seasons part of it. So, an 8 x 8 will get the Sabres 4 UFA years.
  13. I crunched the numbers and Rasmus II will be UFA June 30, 2025 (he will only be 25 and I forgot about the 7 seasons part, or 27 years old), so a 7 year deal does buy 3 years of UFA. I agree, if you are going 7 just go 8 and try to re-sign him at the end of the 7th year, just like TB does.
  14. When in doubt, I always blame the damn phone.
  15. I have my answer. Thanks guys.
  16. Depending on how reliable the source is, it's not as bad as I thought.
  17. If he plays like his father (who has 2 rings, I think, with Pittsburgh) and a little Hedman mixed in, I will be very happy. There you have it ...
  18. Is front loading still possible under the CBA? I thought it was eliminated after the Ehrhoff (SP?) fiasco and some others.
  19. Damn!! So if he signs he is on the team, right? No AHL?
  20. Power will sign, but will only get his 9 game look see (I think that is still a thing) and shows up full-time next season, which will end up being the first of his ELC. Other than that I really don't have much. Pysyk is still a NHL Dman, IMO, and will be alright. I think it will be a pretty good fight for 5 and 6 and 7
  21. If Nurse gets $9M I think that ups the price on Rasmus. $9M is alot for Nurse. He has 1 year left at $5.6M.
  22. I think my bridge amount is low ... make it 2 years at $4.5 - 5 per year.
  23. I do not want to risk another Samson situation due to bridge contracts. I prefer an 8 x 8 deal to get 2 years UFA (I think he is 21 now). I would consider a 2 year bridge at 3 per, BUT it has to be the only bridge deal. Then sign him to tat 8 x 8, or maybe 8.5 - 9 by then at the end of the first year. That will buy 4 years UFA (I think).
  24. The pride of Inverness, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, home of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and the Highlands are a short drive away.
  25. Good signing and good value for the Sabres.
