  1. I think you are onto something here, Mr. Smell, or do you still use Judge even though you have retired?
  2. I gave you a lol thingie only because the poop my brains out thingie is not available.
  3. So, Patches and the guy the Sabres screwed over are back in town to help develop the kids. This is so numbskullish that it may actually work.
  4. You must mean MLS, eh? The major leagues in Europe do not need these ad revenue. The Emire that owns Man C does not need to get some $ because he has Etihad Airways on the front of the jersey. He owns the damn airline too. Fun fact ... Etihad technically opperates out of Halifax (in conjunction with Air Canada). So, I can fly to UAE (not that I would ever want to) on Etihad Airways.
  5. Hello NASCAR or EPL. They need to suppliment their revenue, so I get it. How does it work? Will each team get their own sponsor and charge whatever the market will bear, or is there some kind of revenue sharing, or whatever?
  6. We have approached this thing much differently in Canada. Our case numbers in most places are very low. In NS we thought the world was coming to an end when we had 6 weeks of 'high' numbers ... some days we had added about a hundred a day for about a week. Then we shut it down and rode it out. NS has just under 1 million people, about half of which live in Greater Halifax, which includes Sunnyvale Trailer Park. People in Canada - the real parts ... not Ontario and Quebec, where the numbers were actually quite high when compared to the States and Europe ... tend to get worked up about the numbers @Ducky was talking about. I am concerned that we in NS have added 9 new cases today. All Delta and all related to travel. And now we are allowing you Yanks to come into Canada.
  7. @GASabresIUFAN ... Risto was not part of the damn tank fruit. I am surprised he survived the tank and was not traded by TM in his terrible rebuild attempt.
  8. That number seems to be stuck in an unclosed loop and every single hire has to be paid that. Goalie. Yup $750K Forward ... $750K Dman ... sorry we wanted to do $800K, but can't ... $750K it is Rip ... chz ... PA ... Charlie ... everyone!! $750K
  9. Wow!! Mike, you look a lot like Rob Ray. Creepy likeness. Who's the photo bomber on the left?
  10. This election is not needed. No one wants it except Trudeau. He wants his Majority back and polls show that it is likely, although now he is getting a lot of backlash. It's a good example of him abusing the system. We have fixed elections in Canada now and his government was working, but he needed the support of the very social democratic NDP in parliament, which means he had to be even more left (Trudeau is not a real 'Liberal' like his father before him). The Liberal Party historically has been centrist, as was the old PC (Progressive Conservative) party. Now we have the Conservative Party, which lines up very well with the most right wingers in the Republican Party. The NDP and some of the Liberal Party mix together and come one like many Democrats. The most liberal of the NDP party are your very left Democrats (Bernie). My first election when I was young and stupid (19) I voted PC. Every since that I have either voted NDP, or Green. I voted Green in our NS election (election day is tomorrow) and will vote Green in this Federal election. I hope that Trudeau does not get his Majority. That arrogant bastard!! I really don't like him. He promised me and every other Green Party (and other 'third' party supporters ... there are about a dozen official parties in Canada and most run some candidates) proportional representation in 2015 and we still don't have it. That's an easy promise to make when you are not in power and something that you will never enact when you are in power. It works well in Europe and New Zealand.
  11. Full disclosure ... I am not yet vaccinated and am back and forth on it. I am NOT a rabid anti-vaxxer. I do NOT wear a tinfoil hat (well mostly not). I am a guy that is hesitant because I know people that have had disasterous health outcomes after vaccinations. I know these people very well. We are close. I have my doublts as to the long-term efficacy of these vaccines. I can get it easily any time I want it here in NS, but I am waiting a bit more to see what happens. We seem to have approximately 12 to 13% of the eligible population here in NS that are thinking the same thing. Those numbers have been consistant for several weeks now. Very few people are getting their first shot here now and mostly people are getting their second shots. I do know some people that have had their first shot and are waiting for their second and a few that have said they won't get the second after some pretty bad reactions to the first shot. Anyway ... I am NOT a villian, so I do not like being villified. Here in Canada and maybe in the States too I am being blamed for speading the Delta. I am not. I do not have COVID. I have not been anywhere that I could have contacted COVID where there would not be some sign of it. I very, very rarely leave my own little paradise here on the beautiful coast of NS. When I do it is for as brief a time as possible and as safely as possible (double masking ...).
  12. They are saying that cities are very Liberal, while suburbs and out in the towns (more rural) generally are more Conservative. Same as in Canada, although our divides tend to be regional. With that, we are officially out of bounds. Sorry.
  13. It is based on the British system. Parliament and the country is, technically, run by the Governor General (Queens representative in Canada, who is appointed by a sitting Prime Minister, but apprived by the Queen, which is a formality). Any time there is an election in Canada the sitting Prime Minister has to meet with the Govenor General and ask that they disolve parliament and trigger an election. In theory, the Governor General can refuse the PM's request, but that is not going to happen. The sitting Govenor General is about 1 month into her job. So, Trudeau met with her today and she granted his request that she disolve parliament. Trudeau is hoping that he can win back his Majority in Parliament. In 2015 he got one. In 2019 he got a pretty strong Minority. My hope is that this backfires on him, but not enough to give the Conservative guy a chance to govern, so I hope for an even smaller minority govenment for Trudeau. Small enough that he will be complelled to retire and we can have a better leader for the Liberal Party. I am a social democrat and have been voting Green for years. Trudeau is powerful and elite and is abusing that this time around. No one wants and election and it is not even 2 years into a 4 year mandate. It stinks, really. In other news, we are winding down our own election her in NS. I voted Green. Our Premier has not won election as Premier, he replaced the Liberal Premier when he retired. I can understand him wanting his own mandate. Anyway, you really didn't ask how it works ... lol!!
  14. I agree. And Canadian lives ... IIRC, around 250 Canadian Forces personel died there and many more after coming home and being abandoned. I don't know the number, but there have been a significant number of suicides. It's sad. Very sad.
  15. Why did the US and Canada invade Afghanistan and several died there for no reason? Those poor people. The past 50 years have been just terrible. If I was a veteran of that war I would be really pissed right about now.
  16. Today Parliament in Canada was disolved. We are having an election. I have revived to thread in the Politics Club, so we can have our fun in there. Thanks.
  17. Maybe this time around, but I don't see any way that the new Con leader (same as the old Con leader) really has a path to victory. I also do not see a way that Trudeau gets the majority he so desparately wants. I actually hope for a small minority Liberal government that may lead to Trudeau resigning as PM and party leader, so that we can get a good one.
  18. So he did it and she did it. So, we have an election.
  19. Bump ... Rumours were flying for a few weeks now that Trudeau was going to force and election on the people of Canada during a pandemic. I don't think anyone really wants this except Trudeau, who obviously thinks he can get his majority govenment back. If it were not for the complete idiot running the other major party that likely to win if Trudeau does not I would hope this backfires on Trudeau's ass big time. I hope we give this dink a smaller minority goverment. Trudeau is meeting with the Governor General right now. My hope is that she refuses his request that she disolve govenment to force the election tha no one wants.
  20. Toyota will last a long time and not need much more than normal maintenance, until one day they just die. Skoda is a great car. Driven many of them when in Europe. Fun and sporty. The most fun car I have ever driven in Europe was an Opel Astra (I know, I know ... GM ... blah, blah). It was so much fun and the cluch was the smoothest I ever drive. I was going to bring it home with me, but dude needed it for another month, or two (rental).
  21. Yes, but they were no where near 1+ billion $. I agree with you though.
  22. Why the confusion? Ralphie would be right in his element at Norwich City FC. He has done some good things running an EPL side in the past.
  23. Both ... DAMN PHONE!!
  24. Dude!! You don’t even remember who you were. You were Marchand’s Nose and at one point you were Foligno’s Jock. Yup. NS has a mind like a steal trap. 😁
