The Sabres won’t be able to bring Espo out of retirement. RIP Tony You we’re one of the best ever. -
Assuming No Deal, Do You Expect Jack To Show Up To Camp?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
Welcome!! Sent you a beer. I remember the smoking section in the Aud. Man, have times ever changed. Probably for the better in this case. Nice post. -
Maybe, but I see more offensive upside, therefore Korab. Korab was a big and tough as nails defender, especially in front of our net, but also could contribute on the score sheet.

Yeah. So, I am in a formal relationship with the dude, so I am using his given name. Some others around here are, or were, too. Welcome!! Sent you a beer. What in blazes is that thing with John? -

All the photos of me are creepy, so @SDS is going to have to get a bigger server.

Assuming No Deal, Do You Expect Jack To Show Up To Camp?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
John will not show up for camp per se, but will have to report to the team on veteran reporting day. He will, I assume, not be able to play, so he will go on injury reserve and will not be at camp, or team meetings ... I think we are past the time for a trade before surgery, or whatever treatment is going to happen, so something will have to give very soon, or John will lose the season. -
Can the Sabres Franchise Survive Another Tank/Rebuild?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Hey there, 2112 is awesome, but what is the msw part? You don't have to tell me. Nice post, by the way. -
So, Messi's life long tenure at Barca officially ended yesterday. Today he has arrived in Paris to finalize his transfer and contract with PSG. It is going to be very strange to see him not is a Barca jersey, but I think he will be great in Paris. The rich clubs get all the stars. I knew he would either end up at PSG, or Man C.

He doesn't type very goodly either. I bet he meant 8 years.
-
He is my second favourite after RJ.

Can the Sabres Franchise Survive Another Tank/Rebuild?
Sabres Fan in NS replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
What @pi2000 said. Not being happy with the state of the team and not liking another rebuild (there is no tank this time, thank goodness) is one thing, but not going to abandon them. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I think that there is only one way that this could happen. If John has the surgery and it goes horribly wrong, or he doesn't have the surgery and he does not recover in a timely / proper manner, leading to his retirement. Well, seems like that is two ways, but the end result is the same ... John retires. -

Here is the list of UFA goalies. The top part are signed and the bottom part are still available. https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/goaltender/ufa/ Bernier, maybe. Dubnyk, maybe. -

Chad is not saying that is what they are offering. He is asking if they did what would you do. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
In any trade of Eichel he will be the best player in the trade. So, if you closely hold the old truth that you win the trade if you get the best player then the Sabres will not win this trade, even if the pieces received in exchange develop into very good players they are not likely to be Eichel good. So, we better come to grips with that if we have not already. The best we can hope for is the peices we get turn out to be good players and we strike gold on any draft pick. -
What part? Ontario is a big place and much of it is not close to Buffalo atoll.

Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation

I disagree, you need a well balanced roster. IMO, no player needs to be elite. I stand by my statement ... you need excellent D and G and some very good forwards. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Defense wins championships, even in this era. If there is a Dman in the draft that is highly rated to be a 1st pairing guy in the future and you already have one it is the most reasonable to pick that guy number 1, if you are fortunate to have that pick. If Rasmus becomes a Potvin and Power becomes a Robinson, or Korab, or Shooney, the Sabres have their D studs. Cozens, with luck, will become a competent 1C and Mitts a 2C. We need one, or two (can you imagine), goalie prospects to develop into solid 1A and 1B NHL goalers and the Sabres are set. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I don't yet know enough about Power, or Krebs, but neither has played in the NHL at all (Power), or not much (has Krebs had a look yet?). Anyway, since Cozens IS an NHL player I would not consider him a prospect any longer. Sure, if it were not the Sabres, maybe he would not have had a look at te NHL last year, but still for the Sabres ... not a prospect any more. -
Jack Eichel: Trade rumors and speculation
Sabres Fan in NS replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
This may actually be not far from the truth. If the rumoured offers from NYR are accurate (a big if) that tells me that they were, indeed, not very interested. What NHL team would not be interested, or excited, to add a player of John's skill? Not many, if any, would be willing to give up what he is worth in an open market and pay his salary in this cap era. Etc ... -
CS12 at 38 years old finally has a major international championship to her credit. The Canadian Women won Olympic Gold on sudden death penalties against Sweden. Awesome!!
