What? Are you saying upwards of 150 million in the US are refusing the vaccine? WOW!! I did not realize it was that high. Here in NS about 100,000 out of about 800,000 eligable have not been vacinated. The number is hovering at around 12% of eligible have not and it has not changed much in the last month, or so. It seems that this is where we will stay ... roughly 10%, which has our Public Health Department thinking herd immunity will be reasonably in place. I am not sure what the numbers are in the rest of Canada, but the vast majority are being vaccinated. You really do have a problem down there. Sorry about your wife's condition and the fact that she is likely to be in a compromised situation with her work. That can't be easy to deal with. I understand the stress that you are under. I also apologize for calling you out on your post to Woody. I don't agree with what you said to him, but I understand where it came from. One fine day, I hope, this will all be behind us.

We know that the Sabres will be bad. All you points are right on and correct. They don't make this season a tank season. Tanking is all about intent.

That's fair and reasonable. As of now I say non-tank, but I agree that we should pass final judgement as the season goes on. I will say that I would be surprised if this turns into a tank. I think the Sabres have learned their lesson and there is no McDavid at the end of this season's tunnel.

I am at an advantage over many in where I live. I am not smug about it. Most in Nova Scotia take this seriously and we are very isolated from the rest of the world basically. It is a huge advantage and an even bigger advantage is that we listen and do as we are told for the most part. I understand your frustration with the situation, but the focus should not be on the relatively few that will not get the vaccine for whatever reason. The root of your issues are directly linked to your governments in action, or bad actions.

This thread is the worst ever (at least the last several pages). Much worse than the tank era threads. What ever happened to the unwritten (unwritten because it should not have to be written) cardinal rule around here of 'making it about the post and not the poster'. The personal attacks by two posters in here are terrible. I am really surpirsed by one of them. The other it's a pattern.

You are way over the line, IMO. And just so you know I reported your post above. There are far better ways to convey your disagreement with someone than resorting to insults and your crap. People have choices. Who appointed you the one to dismiss those choices. It seems that you have also drank the kool-aid. Just a different flavour than the people who disagree with you.

Tanking is all about intent. The Sabres are not tanking. It is a full on reset / restart. There is a big difference. This is what I wanted the Sabres to do in 2014 / 15. We are going to have to disagree on this and move on. Okay?

I don't agree. We are not trying to lose. We lost Linus. When that happened the focus was on UPL and probably Levi becoming the next Sabre good goalie(s). Why upset the long-term rebuild plan by bringing in some 'good' goalie that will not be part of any long-term plan? Bring in some vets that can play well enough to get the Sabres through the year. All these guys on 1 year deals are here for that ... 1 year. If 1 year is not long enough someone will be signed for next year. I have a good feeling that UPL does not need much more time to be NHL ready. Maybe Levi too.

They have never claimed that this year the goal was to get better. This year is an investment in the young players that the Sabres have hitched the wagon to. As these young players grow and mature they will be better and that is when the Sabres will be getting better.

There is a big difference between then and now. They have kept very good players. If they were tanking I think Dahlin would have been traded, Cozens, Mitts and any other player that is decent. They alos would have brought in a ragtag mess of veterans to make it look good, but would not end up being good. To me this is a reset. Missing out on Linus is a blow, but the Sabres are not going to be good this year, so why blow a slow and steady rebuild on some goalie that is not going to be here when this thing works it's way out. They got in some cheap veterans to hold the fort as it were intil UPL is really ready. The Sabres are likely to be terrible this year. There is no reason to tank. There is also no tank prize available at the end of the tank rainbow. I do not believe that this year is a tank year. Of course, there is a big part of me that could never view it as such because I am so opposed to tanking.

He and others don’t know what to really tank means. Maybe @SwampD is right and they are not old enough to remember 2013?

Maybe we need to focus on getting through this offseason (we need to sign Dahlin and some others) and then the upcoming season first. I can't think that far in advance. NO!! A THOUSAND TIMES NO!!

The bottom line is the Sabres have Dell and not Linus, so it really does not matter if Linus is better. Linus is better. So, what? Let's hope that Dell is okay.
