  1. Yes. Every single win matters. As far as a *C* on a sweater next season. It may be Kyle. It may not be Kyle. If the *C* is not on Kyle's sweater next season it will make no difference. Kyle is the Captain of this team. And @pi2000 ... the guy was either coached by morons or barely clinging to life for most of those 5 years. WTF!! Are we talking about the same Kyle here?
  2. All I can think about is how quickly 50+ years have gone by. I am getting close to 60 and remember the early days of the Sabres and Rick as if it were yesterday. Where did the years go?
  3. The Flower too. Terrible.
  4. Nice back drop, eh!! Just tacked it up in the garage.
  5. Another interesting development this Ramadan. My wife has always had certain political leanings that generally matched mine. I'll just say that she was loyal viewer of The View, but didn't always like their takes 100%. One evening early in Ramadan (maybe even day 1) when I was making supper I could here strange sounds coming from the living room (no TV, but YouTube). Me .. Sweetheart, what are you watching? Sweetheart ... Megyn Kelly. She's fantastic and not that crazed nut job right winger everyone on The View hates. Me ... Okay ... (meanwhile, I am thinking ... ... OTOH ... It's really hot and sexy ... it's like having an affair without cheating on my wife !!
  6. Thanks and yes. I can't read the whole board. Did the Sabres do okay in April? Is RJ really retired? Did Tage get 40? EDIT: In case yous all didn't notice I am back to my original user name and I noticed that @Doohickie has been brought back to life. It seems that the @The Ghost of NS is gone too. All back to normal, sort of ...
  7. Seems like I missed some fun here. Oh, well. Ramadan was great. Always goes by so quickly. Good to be back. I am having my first morning coffee in 30 days. There was going to be some controversy deciding when Ramadan would end. The calculation method would have had the month end at sunset on day 29, but there was no place on earth that the Eid crescent could be visible even with telescopic aids. So, the whole planet decided that we would use the traditional moon sighting method, which I prefer, and made the month 30 days. No month can be longer than 30 days. Easy peasy and no controversy. The crescent moon was easily sightable before sunset yesterday in many places, especially in North America. Interesting that due to the dateline Muslims in India, Pakistan, Austrailia ... fasted only 29 days. So, when's the draft. LOL !! VEGAS!!
  8. Dastardly dastardly Dastardly dastardly dastardly Dastardly dastardly
  9. Dude!! Ramadan!! 😉😘
  10. Not only that, but mid-April is when my sentence as a Ghost will be up. I think I will return from my fast with my original user name ... Sabres Fan in NS ... yous can all call me NS. Sorry @The Ghost of Yuri ... it's been fun being your Ghost. The moon is at 0.6 % right now here in Halifax. Just barely large enough to see before it sets about an hour after sunset, but it's cloudy here. Tomorrow is supposed to clear late in the afternoon, so we should be able to see the 1 day old Ramadan crescent moon tomorrow evening. Always a thrill.
  11. My wife just told me that the Ramadan crescent moon has been sighted in Arabia, Australia, India and several other countries. Therefore, there is no debate or question. Ramadan will start at sunset today (at 7:43 PM here in Halifax). First day of fasting is tomorrow. Dawn is at 5:30 (ish) tomorrow and sunset is at 7:45 (ish), which means about 14 hour fast. Not too bad. The food and swearing and gossip and everything else is pretty easy to fast. The fasting from water and other liquids is very long even at 14 hours. As the month goes on the fasting time will be longer each day, so I will see how it goes, but in years past I would often break my fast after about 10 hours with a sip or two of water. I will be signing of soon ... see you in a month.
  12. Welcome to the board. Anchor Bar?? Famous, but probably not the best.
  13. Canada avoids the Group of Death. In with ... Belgium, Croatia and Morocco. My wife's best friend is from Morocco ... 👀 ... both have said that they plan to cheer for both teams in the group stage. I still may boycott this WC. Qatar is terrible.
  14. Not to be *that guy*, but part of the reason has to be the sort of break in February ... I'll show myself out. Really, though, it's very encouraging that the Sabres are playing well in March and should be in April. The last time that happened was 10 years ago. A decade of ass, indeed. I remember some years that they were eliminated very late in the season. No specific season come to mind and I am too busy to look it up. I think maybe even on the last day.
  15. I finally picked up my new glasses the other day. With COVID still an issue I was delaying the inevitabe and picked them up and paid the balance due ... our insurance plan ... the NSANDMRSNS Plan ... is ***** and we have to pay the premiums and get zero coverage. Anyway, 3 way (😎) progressives. I am slowly getting used to them. The areas for reading and computer screen distance blend and blur a bit, but I should be able to get used to them. The distance part is great. I don't need a strong prescription for that, but have needed the correction for some time and knew it. It is something how much my eyes were straining at distance. $1,000 (ish) bucks later ... Happy Ramadan to me ...
  16. I think he will thank the fans and the Sabres for making him one of the luckiest men ever.
  17. Like all the Sabre alum ... he deserves a cup as much as anyone. Hopefully, the Sabres will get him one in his retirement. Hopefully, the Sabres will get us all one.
  18. Baring unforeseen situations Ramadan will start at sunset today. For those of you unaware Ramadan is my Lent and as part of my fast during the Holy month I fast from all non-work related internet use. I think that I will be around for most of the day today. This year is very special as Easter, Passover and Ramadan are all in the same month. A Blessed Easter, Passover and Ramadan to all my Brothers and Sisters. And for all my Brothers and Sisters that don't celebrate any of those I ask for your blessings and peace as well. Peace / Shalom / Salam
  19. Thanks for getting us started @SwampD. A momentous occasion, indeed. MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!!
  20. How dare you speak logically in the hopium thread ... 😉
  21. Without hope all is lost.
