I think the Sabres are getting to where we all want them to be. Optimistic for the future. The most optimistic in at least 10+ years. Man that's a long time.

I think he has scored for Buffalo. I can't enen remember who the Sabres drafted in 2011.

If we can't respect each other enough to have a reasonable dialogue on here then there really is no hope for America. @LGR4GM and @WildCard you are both on the same side here. Stop being jerks, okay? It makes it hard for the rest of us (well, me) to focus and contribute.

In before the inevitable move to the *club*. These things do happen in other places (NS two years ago was the worst one in Canada, but there have been others), but not to the extent as in the US. If we assume that there has to be some underlying issue that compels someone to do this ten we have to look at why there are so many more of these mass shootings in the US. We all know what the answer is ... they can easily get guns in the US and in other places they can't. The Texas shooter decided to buy two assault rifles (I think assault, but maybe not, but it does not matter) for his 18th birthday. Just because he could and there were really no questions asked. A year prior he was threating to shoot up his Highschool. It was reported and nothing happened.

I came back into the club to say one thing. The real issue in the US is two fold and you can't fix the second without seriously working on the first and most important issue, IMO. People who are desperate and scared because they find themselves in a terrible situation ... unemployment, addiction etc ... need to be able to easily find and get the help they need and / or have someone be able to do it for them if someone notices the first sign of issues. In Texas and in Buffalo that did not happen. In Canada we have similar problem in our healthcare system. These issues need to be addressed in the US, Canada and many other countries where lack of mental health supports exist. The second issue is that in the US these people are easily able to get guns. This ussue will never be properly addressed without addressing the first issue in a meaningful way. Norway (I think or maybe Finland) has more guns per capita than any other country, including the US, but we never hear of mass shootings there. In large part because of a better healthcare system, but also a different culture than in the US. The culture in the US is not going to change anytime soon, so the best way to address these shootings is to address the mental health care system. That's the way I see it anyway.

I agree with all of this. I sais it's what I can do to show support for the community and victims, but I realize that the families of those killed do not care about it at all. I will admit that doing this kind of stuff makes me feel better. I don't see anything wrong with that since I am powerless to make the changes needed to prevent the next shooting and the one after that and ...

I tend to agree. The Sabres are not in the position with the roster still in rebuild mode to make an aquisition that would make much difference. I hate that the Sabres are still terrible, but I do see signs of life at the end of the tunnel. Or is that light?

What else can we do? We can't change whatever it is that makes these things happen. They happen for a number of reasons. You and I and just about everybody else can't make the changes needed to stop all this. What I can do is send thoughts and prayers and buy a t-shirt to show support forthe community and the victims. It's not much, but it's all we have. I think it shows some caring.

I don't think it's an answer to anything. It's just a way to show support for the city and a way of healing. Proceeds will be going to the families of the victims or, at least, they better be.

I'd say the odds are about 70 - 30 ... diva has a tantrum, has some stupid ass injury that won't heal, gets into a snit with team doctors, finds some other doctor, tells Knights that he demands this and that and some kind other thing, sits and stews, won't play, sits around to try to mend on it's own, yells at everybody throught the media, goes on a Twitter snot induced tyraid, sits some more, waits inpatiently, fires agent, hires new agent, sits until spys see him playing pick-up ball hockey in a WalMart parking lot, lays low for awhile, agent says nothing and then is suddenly traded to Columbus 'cus stupid ass already used his one get out of trade jail free card and is a bitter young man in Ohio ... or Tortzie turns him into the John Friggin' Eichel we all had hoped for. I don't like those odds.

So, both Man C. and Liverpool win their final matches. Man C. wins another title and Liverpool is a very close second. Same old ... same old. In other news NC flames out in spectacular fashion. @Eleven !! Arsenal 5 and Man U 6 ... out of CL, but in EL or some damn thing. No bad result for Arsenal after such a terrible start.
