I think a period may work even better to separate the two distict thoughts. And then the traditional comma before the *but*. I will quote the post in question and add some punctualtion for clarity.

You and your wife are good people with hearts in the right place. Our next door neighbour specializes in training of rescue and high risk dogs. She usually works at client homes to integrate the dog into that home, but her boss has a boarding school where the dogs live in for some time to facilitate the training and works with the dog and the owners to make it all work. I hope that there is similar services available in your area. Good luck to you all.

I think that KA is a little gun shy after the Hall fiasco. After that it has become clear that he is going to stay away from big UFA signings. I would have liked PK coming in here, but KA looked at it and brought in that former Leaf Dman with the long and complicated name to play the right side. He also addressed the goaler situation better than he did last season. This will be another year of growth for the young players and pushing hard to be in playoff contention to the end of the season. The following season we should see the Sabres push very hard for a playoff spot and that needs to be the goal. Just make it anyway you can for the young players to have that playoff feel and experience.
