  1. Not to mention how important a pass rush is and which version of Mark Sanchez shows up.
  2. Yep. Courtesy of Mark "pick-6" Sanchez and the Jets o-line, who couldn't seem to keep him upright.
  3. I've been having problems with my left hamstring on and off for the last 2-3 months. It knots up and feels like it going to pop whenever I run. I rest it, it gets better, then it re-aggravates. Finally had enough and went to the doc today and he is sending me for PT. I asked for the MRI but he said not yet, let's see what the PT folks say. It's so frustrating.
  4. The complaint thread closing early last week. Too much turnover at my job - too many people being transferred around to new locations. The damn dog went outside at 1030 last night, but apparently that wasn't good enough, so he woke me and the missus up twice in the middle of the night to go back outside. So he went out at 1030, 2, and 330. I know he did what he had to do because I stood out there and froze my butt off to make sure, but sure enough he was back in here whimpering a little while later. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  5. I stand by what I said, because I was talking about the depth and the defense. When healthy the starting lineup can hang with most teams in the league, but with the injuries we're experienced and the D dropping a couple stinkers, we can't hang. Other teams have enough depth to overcome some injuries. To be fair in some spots we're now down to 3rd and 4th stringers. In any case, the D is bad enough that if the O is not clicking on all cylinders, we just cannot hand. Dallas embarrassed our Defense. We need more help along the line and among the LBs and especially with guys who can rush the passer.
  6. I was shocked that Sandusky's lawyer allowed - and actually encouraged - him to do the interview. I don't see any advantage that can be gained from that. And when you take 17 seconds and a roundabout answer to say "no I am not sexually attracted to boys"...well you're just digging your own grave.
  7. Preach on. And bonus - he's as much of an asshat as anyone in NHL history, so he'll fit right in at the NHL offices. Shut up, Shanny.
  8. Yes, there should be supplemental discipline in the form of a couple game vacation for Lucic. That's not debatable, as per the NHL rules you cannot hit the goalie. However my concern in all this is that the NHL does meet with Lucic and suspend him, and it only reinforces the Sabres' collective belief that "the league will take care of it for us" and reinforce that mindset of "don't try to get even because the league will suspend that guy" when the next incident happens.
  9. We're Sabres fans. There's always a conspiracy against us.
  10. Yeah I shot him back a reply but no response. I think when you strip away the emotion, most rational Sabres fans would be there - pissed at both the league and the Sabres. At least that's where I am, and if it's good enough for me, then...
  11. TSN's Bob MacKenzie (via Twitter): BOS's Milan Lucic has a 1 pm ET hearing tomorrow with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan for his hit on BOS's Ryan Miller.
  12. No one is saying that at all. You can be pissed at the NHL for failure to enforce their own rules and standards while being pissed at the Sabres for not responding. The concepts aren't mutually exclusive.
  13. I had that rule/link all locked and loaded from an argument I had with a buddy about the same thing. He's a Leafs fan, so he's a little slow and needs to see it in black-and-white.
  14. I've been arguing with two really good friends on Facebook who think the same thing - Miller left the crease so he's fair game, no big deal. Scary that people actually think that.
  15. This game shows the talent disparity between Buffalo and the better teams in the league. I think the starting lineup can hang with most teams in the league, but the depth guys aren't there. The defense is still a joke, though, and I don't expect the D-coordinator to last the season. We need to focus almost exclusively on defense - particularly D-ends and linebackers, preferably ones who can get to the damn QB.
  16. All our corners are really struggling lately. Does anyone have any sense where the ball is when it is in the air?
  17. I agree. Personally I've tried not to look at this from my perspective as a parent, but as a human being. I know there is a lot of outrage out there about "if that happened to my kid I'd...." but I can't think like that. I can't bring myself to even imagine my child as a victim of something so horrendous and despicable.
  18. There are still a lot of good people who understand what's important. But it just shows that there are still a lot of dumb people out there who are pissed about "what I deserve" or "how dare you take shots at the football program/JoePa? Don't you know what he did for us?"
  19. I was happy to see the vigil. Then dismayed to see this: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/13/sports/ncaafootball/for-a-father-and-daughter-a-growing-bond-with-penn-state-is-shattered.html?_r=1&ref=sports
  20. Here is a great column by LZ Granderson at ESPN.com. In it he examines the involvement of McQueary's father (whom the GA called after witnessing the shower rape). http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/story/_/id/7219772/mike-mcqueary-penn-state-teachable-moment-parents
  21. Good open letter from an OSU fan to PSU fans: LINK This is what I want to say to you. You are not Joe Paterno. You are not Tim Curley. You are not Gary Schultz. You are not Graham Spanier, and you are sure as hell not Jerry Sandusky. Their alleged sins are not your own. They may be the most recognizable faces of your beloved program, but they are not Penn State. They are not a 156 year old center of higher learning. They are not a century of football tradition. Their flaws cannot eclipse the innumerable scientific, artistic, and humanitarian contributions your university, and its 44,000 students and 570,000 living alumni have made and will continue to make to the world at large. The spirit of a program, of a university, and of a state is so much bigger than any one person.
  22. Agreed. I have to believe that Pegula and his camp are asking a lot of questions of the athletics department right now and they are not going to say anything until the dust settles some and Pegula has some concrete answers. Commenting now is simply not prudent, given that he is not a major player in this scandal. If I were in T-Pegs position and had to give any sort of comment, I would probably limit it to expressing my devastation and outrage and my heartbreak for the victims, and reserve comment on anything else until I knew more.
  23. Echoing all the thank yous already posted. Thank you all for your service.
  24. :worthy: Good point. Hopefully someone does the same to this guy. I think that about sums it up.
