I think I am on Team Wet Blanket.

Sounds about like what we were speculating - that was a nightmare road trip for him, and the idea of being traded and your role dramatically changing, new city, new teammates, new system....it must have been physically, mentally and emotionally draining for him. Sorry, not from me, and I doubt from most who have a shred of hockey sense. As has been mentioned before - he is 21 years old, in his first full year as a pro, and was just traded from a loaded offensive team where he was the 3rd-line center into a much bigger role on a team pushing to qualify for the postseason. I would expect a seasoned veteran to struggle given his situation in the last 2+ weeks, let alone a 21-year-old rookie. From what I've seen (albeit in a limited amount, to be fair) he has skills. His vision is pretty damn good, he finds open ice, and his lines were getting good scoring ops the first few games. He seems to have hit the wall. I hope the crux of Lindy's talk with him was "relax, don't press, just go home, take a long nap, get a good night's sleep and be ready to go on Wednesday night."

Me too. I would order a Mario Williams jersey tomorrow if they signed him. Agreed. Most of the time all we heard were jokes about Ralph sending the GM in his Ford Taurus to pick up players.

Well that's just bad luck. Royal was always being hammered by someone, so eventually he was going to make someone look bad with a catch he rarely ever makes.
-
Why are you blaming poor nobody? I don't think he said that at all. Anywho....as one of the snarky ones from the GDT, I'll respond. I haven't seen any posts that specifically say "Myers" and "sucks" in succession (def not in this thread) but there have been more than a few posts that I personally felt were overly critical. Mostly it was a swipe at the usual in-game emotional roller-coaster that some posters usually ride.

This.

I really thought that once he made the move to trade up, the next call would have been to Randy Moss. Agree on both count - open the vault for WIlliams, stay away from Vincent Jackson. There are going to be some WRs out there.

Good! I like that kinda spirit in a player! The only problem is I didn't cut you.
-
Not the whole team, but the vast majority of The Core. ....not that there's anything wrong with that.
-
Why not? Hasn't this board already diagnosed Myers with Marfan Syndrome and Ryan Miller with some biocular misalignment that affects depth perception?

No, our IT department are good guys who help where they can - they are just overwhelmed. They need more people in that department. Our business office, who is supposed to support the sales and service staff, but often will cave in to the customer's requests/demands, even when they are in blatant violation of policies and procedures.

One of two culprits I was thinking of when I posted this.
-
People in support roles who are not only unsupportive, but actively make your job more difficult.

"Rex had a great camp and we feel he gives us the best chance to win games going forward."
-
I fully expect Daniel Snyder to do something epically stupid here, like throw a 2-year, $100M contract at Peyton, and then trade up to take RGIII.

Found some hail damage on my vehicle from last night's storm. Not enough to warrant replacement or even a report to the insurance, but noticeable enough that it looks bad.

I'm here to help. Actually I am too. I am really interested to see how they improve the team in the draft and FA. There are some guys who should be UFAs who can help right away.

I think it was a combination of a) a concerted effort to adjust the game plans to suit his strengths and b) Spiller's adjustments and maturation - he stopped trying to simply outrun everyone and actually started running the ball like a RB, following blockers, and then bouncing outside when the opportunity presented itself.
-
On the first point - there's always the offseason, when teams have less cap restrictions and less pressure to make a deal. +1
-
33 points puts him 4th on the free-wheeling offensive juggernaut that is the Buffalo Sabres. hey...it's HARD to make trades in NHL 2011 on xbox.
-
Ouch. Not a great swan song.
-
Therein lies the rub....he's the main character in Slap Shot 2. He's basically Reg Dunlop - player/coach.

Much like Rocky V, I refuse to acknowledge that those movies exist. If you cast a Baldwin in a hockey movie you should be barred from making movies again.

USB flash drives that come pre-loaded with crap I am (mostly likely) never going to use. I just want a storage flash drive. That's all. No 6GB of cloud backup, no security, no browser sync software, none of it. Just need a flash drive.

Yep. if it keeps up he'll be a career AHL vet.
