Sabres sign Goalie Craig Anderson to One Year 750k Deal
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
If he did, it would be at the cost of spelling the name FRANKLIN wrong on the back. We would have another OKOPOSO or ROBITALLE or ANDREYCHUCK on our hands. -
Sabres sign Goalie Craig Anderson to One Year 750k Deal
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, but at $750k, and with no leadership experience? Also, double zero isn’t a legal jersey number anymore. -
This will be the first season in my life where I’m not watching any of the games. I’ve had enough. I’ll just live vicariously through SabreSpace.

That’s Two! Goalie Aaron Dell Signed to a One Year 750k Deal
Andrew Amerk replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Dell, 32, played seven games with the New Jersey Devils, with a 1-5 record, along with a 4.14 goals against average and an .857 save percentage. Sweet! -
Sabres sign Goalie Craig Anderson to One Year 750k Deal

Andersen will pull a Vontae Davis and retire during an intermission in Week 2. -
Are teams signing players ahead of free agency somehow, or am I missing something?
-
Yeah, probably wouldn’t be a good sign for other players the team might want to lure in the future.

A few weeks ago, I would’ve said Fox + Shesterkin/Georgiev as a starting point, with Kakko or Laf, but now the Sabres have 3 G prospects and as good as Fox is, they have Dahlin and Power.
-
I’ve never understood the fascination with Laf, or Kakko. I wouldn’t be interested in any trade with the Rangers TBH.

Linus has become the new Miller. Sabres fans never appreciated how good he was, I think mostly because fans never realized at the time how special Dom was until he was gone.

Well, the team sort of hit a point of no return when they signed Hall and traded for Staal to see if they could be competitive with what they had. Unfortunately, they had a coach who was out to lunch amidst a 47 game losing streak, an entire roster that was regressing under him while playing a boring and lifeless defensive “system,” 22 goalies got injured, and the HC couldn’t possibly conceive of putting a guy that scored 40 goals back with that center for at least 1 game and felt his best role was on the 4th line for 2 seasons. That center played injured, got more injured, and got fed up with 6 years of this crap - kinda like a lot of the fans have, but we’ve been dealing with it longer than him.

The Sabres aren’t looking for roster players, and haven’t stated that was their intent at all when they decided they were going to trade 3 of their best players. They made it clear they are/were looking for prospects and picks, to start over. This isn’t shuffling chairs on the deck. This is getting people off of the Titanic, while looking for other people to get onto the next version of it.

It’s better to be late to the party than not show up at all.

Eventually, one of them will offer Rossi or Byfield or Zegras to beat their competitors. No, he doesn’t, unless TPegs is pressuring him like he did with ROR and there’s no reason to right now.
-
Apparently, neither of the other teams have, either. I can only hope this Vegas rumor is chatter to drive the Kings, Ducks, and Wild into an actual decent offer.
-
I don’t see the appeal the Sabres would have in a 30 year old Smith, an okay prospect in Krebs, a projected bottom pairing D in Hague, and a 1st that would probably be near the dead end of the 1st round. 🤷♂️

Face it, the plan for next year is another tank

Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond
Andrew Amerk replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I agree. R2 has been solid. He will be fun to watch with more NHL minutes. -
Idk. Eichel himself is enough of an asset. I don’t think other teams need a “sweetener.”
-
Sounds like they aren’t letting him, they just didn’t want him. F the Bruins. I hope they become a dumpster fire. Enjoy Hall.
-
I like your odds better.
-
Are they letting him, or did he want to?
-
Why?

The June bugs are once a year, in July. He might have meant the 17-year cycle cicadas. They’ve been an internet sensation this year. The Sabres got Perreault in 1970, Turgeon in 1987, Eichel in 2015, Dahlin 2018? That’s a 16 year cycle, so I guess Buffalo isn’t too far off.

This is awesome.
