  1. I'm thinking that I heard Gretzky say in an interview that he wanted to stay an Oiler for his entire career. Until the trade happened. I think I'd prefer the stability, personally.
  2. Yeah, but he's stepped up when it really mattered.
  3. Kaner with 7 points in last 2 games. What a bad time for the Kings to allow him to wake up.
  4. Tonight's game makes me sad. One game closer to no hockey for a few months.
  5. You may be right, and I've thought about that plenty of times. Yet, I feel connected and like I belong anytime I have been on a sports team, and also at a few of my jobs. I appreciate the positive responses from you all, it wasnt easy to open up about some of those things. Pretty cool exercise, I'm enjoying everyone's posts. I find similarities with items from every person.
  6. The guy WAS a really good player for us. I hope he enjoys his recent retirement.
  7. Hmm. Not sure if I'm correctly grasping the concept of the thread, but here goes: 1. I am an only child. My father stopped being a father when I became a teen, and my mother died from cancer 7 years ago. 2. I have always been surrounded by "friends" my entire life, but have never felt truly connected to any of them, or like I've had a real friend. This has spanned thru a variety of different circles. 3. I believe that I could've played in the NHL, if I hadn't tore up my meniscus and suffered a concussion during a freak accident on a breakaway in a roller hockey game at Genesee Valley Rink when I was 13. 4. I was kicked out of high school, and never graduated. Yet, I was accepted into college after scoring 98th percentile on the entrance exam. 5. I have a teaching degree that I have never used. After college, I started working at a concert venue, which led me to being a booker, promoter, talent buyer, and touring around with bands. Sounds fun to some, but I'm glad that I've moved on. 6. I have met a lot of "famous" people - athletes, musicians, actors - and I don't care. It's no big deal to me. 7. I almost never smile. This leads to people assuming that I am angry, a murderer, or miserable, even when I'm happy. It gets annoying being asked what's wrong, even tho I am content with life. 8. I will likely never have kids, and I am okay with that. 9. I own, and have owned, a variety of pets. Dog, cat, cockatoo, cockatiel, lovebirds, quaker parrot, iguana, scorpion, chameleon, rabbit, and more - I love animals. 10. I feel like I post often on this board, but despite that, I don't feel like I am a part of your community.
  8. The ferry was taking people from the island to the terminal after the concert. There was a subway entrance right across the street from the ferry tetminal. My apologies for not clarifying. Also, something was going on with the Port Authority Bus Terminal - they were having people board buses at Grand Central...idk.
  9. 11 basically summed up my feelings about NYC. Terrible attitudes, and utterly dirty. You would think the most famous city in the world would want to take more pride in its appearance. Tokyo, Miami, Toronto, Paris, etc are all vastly cleaner cities. Also, the commuting. Got stuck sleeping in Grand Central Station once, because they couldn't figure their bus schedules out, and couldn't even tell us what time it was coming. Another time, leaving a concert on Governors Island, couldn't get train tickets because not only were the automated booths not accepting credit or cash (only coins), but the ticket booth was closed. Created a nice scenario for around 50,000 people all trying to leave at once. No cabs could even be found, and no stores were open. I ended up trading a homeless man some cash for some change. Have never been back, and never will. There are great options for food, cool historic sites, but its not worth the hassle, nor the atrocious prices for everything.
  10. 2OT - here we go!
  11. Unlike Qwk and Tank, I hate NYC.
  12. Talbot vs Tokarski in the Conference Finals! Vanek with the 3rd least minutes played, less than 6. Wow.
  13. Does anyone have this Satan cartoon? I couldn't find it...
  14. I'm all for one more tank year. Another year of the prospects developing, and go into the next draft with those 3 first rounders. I think they need to add a couple vets for the development, either this off-season or next. Ott and/or Callahan. Wouldn't mind Gionta, Penner, Morrow, or Moore.
  15. I think the rook has played well. Considering its a Conference Final, Game 4, visitor, at Madison Square Garden...and he was, what, in the AHL a week ago?
  16. Soooo good... http://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2014/05/14/zdeno-chara-mustve-thrown-a-black-cat-under-a-ladder-into-a-mirror-gif/
  17. I mean, I guess you can put me in the "Angry" category, IKP. Since I am supportive of them. I do feel it is dumb to ask for more money after your team finished dead last. The owner also said that he wasnt in this for $$$. While I understand the revenue sharing and everything else that was said here, I still don't agree. I used to be a mini-pack holder, gave them up prior to last season. I saw that the Sh!thawks were coming, Bo-bandy.
  18. None of the 3 have been called the German Gilmour or the German Toews.
  19. There is a lot more at stake. Someone who drinks heavily cannot just stop cold turkey - it can kill you.
  20. You are right, JJ. NBC had the better angles. Under the rules, at least 2 Bruins should be suspended. Chara, is more questionable. He was responding to get tripped, and (I couldn't see) Markov spearing him in the nuts.
  21. Here is one, but it only catches half of the shenanigans. http://youtu.be/qYqPzNV0Ovo
